This works very well. It has an interesting ratcheting action and made changing a couple of compression angle valves a breeze. I am not a plumber but I like tools so I also own the Kobalt 2-in-1 plumbers wrench but I kinda like this one better a plus this one is cheaper. The Kobalt wrench is nice because it takes less storage space as one piece screws into the other to make it appear as a single unit. Anyway — get yourself a good compression ring puller and you should be all set.

This tool beats using a pair of pliers (or two) any day for tightening or loosening compression valves for sinks and toilets. While the ratcheting mechanism is a little cumbersome and takes some getting used to, it works great in tight spaces where you would constantly have to reset a pair of pliers. The threaded handle is a huge help in holding the valve in position too. Build quality seems solid and unless you are going to be using this daily, I don’t see why this tool wouldn’t hold up for a very long time. If you are going to be installing or removing more than a couple compression fittings I highly recommend this tool. If you’ve been doing it the hard way for years you will kick yourself for not buying one of these sooner! Makes working in tight places that much less of a headache!

Works good definitely a lifesaver in some situations but you do get some slip when you start to tighten the nut other than that is a must-have in your toolbox

Amazing tool for hooking up water line

I saw a video when needing to replace the valve for a sink faucet, and the guy showed this product. This thing is an AWESOME tool. The ability to open the wrench and get it into tight spaces vs using an open end wrench, or worse, a pair of pliers, made changing the faucet a breeze. You do have to make sure you have it flipped the right way in order for it to stay locked when using the wrench on a nut, otherwise it will unlock when you apply pressure. It has the two standard sizes on it for most under-sink setup, but be sure to check your sink specifically to make sure it fits. The other item included, the little bar, screws onto the top of the valve to be used as a lever against the torque required to loosen or tighten the retaining nut that joins the valve and copper pipe. So simple, but incredibly useful, vs trying to use a pipe wrench or something else. Be careful to not apply too much side pressure when putting the retaining nut on or taking it off so as to not damage the copper pipe. If you balance pressure between the bar and the wrench, the job will be pretty effortless and not damage anything. Great product and real time sacer!

It is a good tool to have when removing and installing compression valves

Useful tool for connecting and removing water lines in kitchen and bathroom and replaces an entire wrench set for small to medium sized fittings. It’s got a solid grip and doesn’t slip as much compared to using a regular or adjustable wrench. Good value, functional and practical for small plumbing jobs.
