Great chair! The envy of all my camping mates!
I was worried about reviews that said “it was a beast to port around”. Since I am planning on using this camping most of the time portability is important. I’m 5’10” female with reasonable strength. This chair is not difficult to fold, carry, or move. I brought it on a weekend camping trip and regularly relocated it from campsite to lakeside daily without issue. It is THE most comfortable chair EVER. It even got the hubbie’s seal of approval for cost/quality and that doesn’t come easily as he holds that bar pretty high. It’s a big chair designed to accommodate big people. It’s sturdy and well put together. The moving lumbar pillow is perfect. Use it for lumbar support when sitting upright and as a pillow when reclining. The little table that folds away is perfect for my 30 ounce yeti tumbler with handle, my phone, and my tablet. The table doesn’t appear to be made of wood but rather some sort of metal/plastic material and I don’t foresee it warping due to moisture as some reviewers mentioned. The locking mechanism works well. It’s the only part of the chair that worries me though. If a stronger person forgets the locks are engaged and try to force the chair to move it seems like the locks could break. I don’t know this for a fact though..I just make sure to be aware if the locks are engaged when using the chair and advise anyone who is using it to do the same. The chair has a warning on the label that because the arms are made of wood it shouldn’t be left in the elements all the time. Not a big deal to me as I always put my portable chairs in storage when not in use (so they keep in good condition longer). Overall this is a great chair at a reasonable price and I’m planning on buying another so the Hubbie stops stealing mine.

Wow! Really comfy chair!!
This is the second one of these chairs I have purchased and have logged many hours in it over the last two summers. Loved the first one - the backrest is mesh=like in the middle which is great on those hot, humid, sweaty summer days. Actually gets chilly on cooler days so I got this one with a solid backrest. It is SUPER comfy!! Haven't spent an afternoon in it yet, but looking forward to it as I gave it a quick test run and am extremely happy. Very cushy seat and the extra width makes the chair nice and roomy. Looks good too - especially like the "wood" armrest they dress it up wonderfully! I really recommend these chairs. The only negative is that they are a beast. Heavier than one would expect, but I guess that means it is solidly built! Was able to get it when the price had been reduced so also this was a good value.

Learn how to use the brakes first! Before sitting down and leaning back!
This is my first zero gravity chair. I had a sling chair once, or I think they called them deck chairs, that was so comfortable, and I noticed zero gravity chairs while looking to purchase another. First things first, I read a lot of reviews, and I noticed in a lot of them they talked about the brakes, which as I understood was how you locked the zero gravity chair in different degrees of recline. So I got it in the other day, and was kind of excited to have it, and opened the box right there in the front yard, and sat down in it and leaned back to see how comfortable this thing was going to be. Well I'm a little less than 300 lbs, and that being one of the reasons I got this chair is the weight limit being up to 350 as I recall. The chair went all the way back really fast, probably because I didn't have any braking applied, and when it came to a sudden stop my chair went over backwards, and dumped me on the ground. And since my feet were elevated, in relation to the chair, I nearly rolled completely over backwards, with my body weight compressing my neck. Fortunately I was able to throw my weight to the side and come down sideways, which gave me a few scratches from gravel on my arms, but it concerned me how easy it might have been for me to seriously injure my neck. I don't know if all zero gravity chairs are like this, or if it's just this particular one. Once I learned how to safely use the brakes, something I'm still working on, to lean back into a reclined position safely, I found it to be very comfortable. I will just exercise caution, when leaning back. I heard people complaining about how heavy these chairs can be, and this one is heavy, but it's also heavy duty, and strong, so you can't have everything. I don't mind the extra weight, I'm not planning on taking it backpacking.

Well-constructed, well-engineered and, well . . . Great !!
I looked long and hard for a higher quality zero-gravity recliner and ultimately landed on Portal's oversized, non-mesh, padded version (as I believe the 600D "ballistic" material will endure outdoor exposures better). All that compulsiveness really paid off as I am in no way disappointed with this purchase. I am ecstatic at the comfort quality, the ease of operation, the weight (which is not too heavy for me to carry, but as I also live where it gets quite seasonally breezy so it seems like it isn't nearly as prone to wind-walking across my deck as other chairs have). The adjustable pillow works quite well, as do the locking mechanisms. I find it easy to open, easy to close back up and the reclining motion is "like butta". Happy to say I am most satisfied with this Portal zero-gravity recliner. Because I'm also interested in seeing this chair last as long as possible, I also chose to purchase a 400D slip over cover, installed when the chair is completely folded back together and that attaches at the bottom with clips. From my POV, all that research I put in (including the many positive ratings and very few negative I combed through ) . . . did indeed pay off. The price was slightly higher than many others I looked at, but as I learned a long time ago . . . where my comfort is concerned, it ain't worth the compromise. I would definitely purchase another one of these chairs.

Great Chair !!
This chair is really well made and very comfortable. It is a bit heavy but that’s okay. I love the wood arm rests, but I wouldn’t leave it out in bad weather for long. I use mine inside and I also cut a pool noodle for the foot rest..

Great 0 gravity chair option
If there were more stars id give them. I writing the review while sitting on the chair. Super comfortable, more lean than I though and feels sturdy and reliable. It wide and spacious. Only wish is that the table was slightly closer to me when in reclined position. But honestly GREAT purchase. Look forward to spending time on it!

Beautiful, Comfortable
Wanted a zero recliner for the deck. Especially for really hot nights when I want to sleep out there and watch the stars until the house cools down. I had a La Fuma several years ago and I think this chair is superior. First, It is a true zero gravity. Feet rest above heart level when fully reclined. This chair is very attractively put together. A lot of attention to detail. Love the wood armrests. Nice sturdy and handy fold away drink table attached that I use for a citronella candle. The stiching is top notch. It has a partial mesh back which I really like because it keeps me cool. After reading several reviews about it not holding up to weather and sun I take precautions with it because I want to it to remain as nice as it is for years. So, I cover it when I'm not using it. This chair is VERY comfortable and supportive. It's wider than standard so I can lay a little on my side if I want to, and it is plenty long for my 5'9". This is a very nice chair and worth taking a little effort to preserve. Happy Stargazing.
