Attaching these to the eyepieces of binoculars makes a world of a difference. I use it on my Celestron 15x70 skymaster binoculars for star gazing. The binocular bandit cuts out ambient light from getting to your eyes and degrading the view. Essential accessory for daytime terrestrial viewing as well as for stargazing. The product appears well made and durable. Recommended.

Works great so far

Works well enough on compact, 10x25, reverse porros. Works well and feels good against the face on large, 8x56 porros.I bought a 2nd one — might buy a third.

For me sunlight coming in from the side has always been a major annoyance...I didn't realize just how much image and contrast degradation this sunlight was causing...When using this shield the image is brighter, the contrast is greater, the eyes focus better and there is less fatigue on the eyes themselves...Overall a win, win, win, win....I wish I had owned these years ago...The price seems a little high for what it is...Then again, it's Made in the USA and I'm used to Chinese pricing...So, I'll pay the $20 for a Made in USA product every time...Buy one, you'll smile on the first use...Can't wait to get the shield made for spotting scopes..

The American made Bino Bandit by Alpine did not look like the photos on Amazon, it arrived as a thin, die-cut piece of neoprene with a camouflage pattern I took the leap o faith and removed the packaging hoping things would work out. I was able to install it on my 10x42 Nikon Monarch but the shield is very light and flexible. I will field test them as soon as the Orygun Coast gets enough sunshine to be a problem.

Work great for binoculars or telescope binoviewers. Would recommend.

Plan on observing the 2024 solar eclipse through solar binoculars. Don't want to be concerned about sunlight coming in via my peripheral vision as I bring up the binoculars. Enter the Bino Bandits. They do the intended job.They are a little spendy, but you can't easily replace your eyeballs.
