Build is solid and it's plenty power for Home Assistant.
Everything in the kit is top-notch. Make sure to watch the instruction video. It answered all my questions. Originally I had a RPi3B but it just could not keep up with only a dozen sensors in Home Assistant. But this RPi 5 basically flies, quick response with no hesitation. And plenty of storage.

No instructions but easy to find on YouTube - most inclusive kit out there
This Pi kit includes everything you need to get started and then some. A quick search and I found a great video on the assembly of everything. Other than having to go online for instructions, this kit is an absolutely 5 star for newer Pi users. It is possible to come close to the price if you search and source each piece, but for most people, these kits will be the best bang for the buck. After assembly, you pop the already setup sd card in and turn it on. It is truly that simple. As for performance, this runs circles around my Pi 4. It uses a bit more power but is powered via USB-C connection, so as long as you have a 45 watt supply, you can run this thing anywhere. Overall, it is a great upgrade from my Pi 4 and couldnt be happier with the complete kit!

Nice kit for a first time Pi user
If you're wanting to get into single board computing and using a raspberry pi this canakit setup is the move. It's got everything you need to get started. It's not one of those kits where you realize you need to order something else half way through putting it together, this one is actually everything you need. The components included are good quality, the heatsink is nice, the microSD is good quality, cables and power supply are all exactly what you'd want. If you're a power user, or a computer enthusiast, you may already have some of these items and this kit may not be the best fit. The SD card comes pre-installed with Raspbian pre-configured. If you're like me you'll probably end up wiping it and putting a fresh copy on so you can configure everything exactly how you want. The fan and heatsink keep the pi running cool. The fan isn't overly loud, and does a good job of keeping everything cool. The HDMI cable and the USB C power cable have durable and snug connections. The microSD card reader gets pretty warm, and I'm not sure it's the best quality but the rest of the kit is pretty darn good. Overall it's a nice kit and I think if you need the full kit this would be a good buy.

Pi 5 has a power chip issue. Take your chances
Died after a year. Just occasional usage in the living room. Power chip died, apparently it happens with pi 5s. Fan doesn't spin up on power on, led stays red when first plugged in. Not worth buying

Everything you need in one kit to going with a Raspberry PI 5
This is a good, complete kit to get you started with your Raspberry PI 5. You get a 4gb Raspberry Pi 5, power supply, 2 HDMI cables, heat sync kit, fan, case, 128gb Micro SD Card pre-loaded with 64-bit Raspberry Pi OS, USB MicroSD card reader, and a pin out guide for the Pi. I currently own three raspberry PIs (a 3b, a 4, and now a 5) All of them have come from Canakit. With this kit you will have to add a monitor, mouse and keyboard, everything else you need is provided. The pre-loaded OS is the bare minimum version and you will have to download and installed the additional software you want, which is nice because you can add just what you need. The only part of this kit that was just "so so" was the case as it just snaps together but not just tightly. That's my only "sort of" negative. All in all this is a great kit at a good price.

Just Fine
It’s what I bought, but it’s been awhile since I used the Pi and normally these kits have instructions/ tutorials available that are comprehensive. The resources offered with this item are outlandish (list of poorly made tutorials in a giant list of all their stock, similarly named so finding the correct resources is difficult) It’s what I ordered, but if I could go back in time I’d probably not order the rpi5 to begin with since it’s not so different from earlier generations

Easy to setup. I'm using this as a Homebridge server and was able to assemble and setup within minutes. This is the first Raspberry Pie I've ever setup too.
