Great Book after replacing
After the exam - I did pass on the first try and this book was my main source for study. I passed with flying colors and this book was the best study material I used. I tried a couple web based trainings out and looked into other books but I tend to be fairly driven and find most material slow for my taste. This book allowed me to go at my own pace and the video overviews of each section filled in any gaps. I would highly recommend this book for anyone taking the exam.Quality concerns - The first copy I got is missing the key needed to access the online portion. The second copy sent as a replacement copy was also missing a key. I ended up reaching out the company that made the book and they took care of me. They also sent me a third replacement copy directly that is of much higher quality leaving me to believe the versions from Amazon may have been forgeries. aActual material – The actual material of the book has been fantastic. I have tried a couple other books and web-based trainings and so far, I have found my self-study with this book to be the best. There is no fluff and it also isn’t super dry. I would highly recommend to anyone taking the PMP exam to use this book as party of their study plan.Minor complaints – for the price, I would have liked for the book to be printed on thicker paper. This is a minor thing really but you can see a little bit of ghosting from the next page. Color for the diagrams would have been nice as well but again very minor in this case and the book is augmented with little videos that help as well.

Passed on the First Try! Highly Recommend!
This book is amazing. Not only did I pass the PMP on the first try, but I scored above target in all exam areas. This book is detailed enough to achieve full understanding of the material being discussed without being overly detailed. I did purchase the Rita’s book everyone raves about. While I agree the Rita’s book is a very good book, it has WAY too much detail to go through. This book is straight, to the point and easy to read. There are also videos you can access via the publisher’s website.I also used Mr. Crowe’s PMI-ACP exam prep book and passed, above target in all domains on the first try as well. I highly recommend this book and his other exam prep books!

Earned my PMP on the first try!
I found this book to be extremely helpful while studying for the PMP exam. The course where I earned my PDUs was not very helpful in explaining the concepts of the process framework. I almost exclusively used this book for studying and I went from a very basic understanding of the PMBOK to passing the PMP exam with above targets in every process group within two months. I felt that this book does a great job of laying out the concepts in a way that made it easy to comprehend. I went through this book and then repeatedly took the exam at the end of the book as well as the free exam prep that was available through Velociteach. Videos are included but I didn't watch any of them; I just read the book and made a lot of flashcards. The two weeks prior to the exam I used free PMP practice tests you can find online and studied the flash cards I made from this book. The book is generic and while studying I would just search online for more in depth explanations as needed based on practice exam performance. Overall a great resource, highly recommend.

Over Prepared and Passed Above Target
I come from a company with little traditional Project Management experience, and before applying I only took a very PMBOK focused Lynda course. I purchased this book and read it cover to cover, took all the chapter tests, watched most of the free videos, took the online test once, and took the final exam twice. Thanks to all that prep, I passed Above Target in all areas yesterday!!I loved how "real talk" this book was. I will be using it as I redesign our processes. I actually feel like I understand the PMBOK processes and could actually apply them. That is worth way more than the $70 this book cost me!My only critique of the book is that the final exam question were way harder than the actual PMP test. This is normally a great thing, but the actual form of the questions was deceiving. The book included a ton of "which of these does not apply", and I didn't encounter anything like that. So this guide got me WAY more nervous than I probably needed to be.So awesome content, but the practice tests are not going to feel exactly like the PMP exam.

pretty good guide - cleared PMP
I took some time to come back and write this review because I owe a lot to this guide for clearing my PMP. I failed the first time because I did not refer to the right resources and honestly did not understand many of the concepts.I only did two things to clear the PMP. (Even though it's recommended that you read PMBOK guide, I could not do it. It's very dry).1) Read and understood all that's said in this book. Understanding all the concepts make you more confident.2) After finishing this book, I purchased the practice test from pm-exam-simulator.com. They have around 8 tests. It's an easy process to understand whether you are ready or not. If you can score more than 80% in their practice tests at the first attempt, you are good to go. I was able to achieve that only after the 6th practice test. But try to attempt the questions honestly. If you have a doubt, go this book and clarify for answers and or concepts.Few golden tips:1) By heart and chew the tasks given in the PMI PMP Examination Content Outline. There are so many questions that can be answered if you just know this properly.2) Know all the 49 process and their corresponding domain.Hope this helps for someone looking to clear PMP.

Solid study guide for version 6 and 7
I entirely self studied for the PMP and started with this book. It's comprehensive and beyond useful in explaining concepts, providing practices, and practices tests/exams. While the version 7 focuses more on agile, this book gives such a solid base for classic/waterfall techniques, that when i tried some version 7 practice exams, my score went up significantly. Overall great book and hella useful. Offered it to friends to use too.
