clear for sound when recording

The insta360 X3 internal mic is rubbish outdoors especially in wind. I tried the Insta wind muffs, cheap foam blocks that show in the stitch line if you muff the front mic and they made no difference to wind noise - returned. I didn't want a Frankenmonster of cables, clips and wires so i got the DJI mic 2 TX only and connected via Bluetooth, it has a very strong magnet and clip. I got the cheaper white one as it's easier to find in the grass when camping. It can record audio on its internal storage like a dictaphone. Cons: Cannot use it's noise cancellation feature unless you have the Receiver as well but i think it is on by default. No App for the Transmitter only, can't change any config such as default sound level etc. You have to connect the mic every time you switch either of them off, annoying but hey, maybe a software fix coming? The phone app gets in a tizzy if the mic is also connected using Bluetooth. The cons are trivial against the benefits, can't vouch for longevity but it feels quality and robust, perfect for my needs.

I bought this to use with an Action4, and had chosen the "white" version because it was for back up audio and action cam footage at a Wedding. Ideal for just putting on a table at a Wedding function to capture random audio and speeches, whilst being fairly unobtrusive, but having internal memory storage also. Once paired with the Action4, it links immediately when the camera is turned on, with a bar on the view screen showing the level being recorded. Had not expected that instant visual confirmation it was working. The zipped storage case is very well made. The spring clip for attaching to clothing and a strong magnetic plate for attaching to thin clothing appear to be very well made.

I bought this item as a second mic for my Osmo Pocket 3. I already had one mic that originally came with my camera but needed a second mic. Like everything from DJI it feels quality the minute you hold it. It linked to my camera very easily and works a treat.

Records great sound, cancels noise and beautiful.

i recorded 6 different sounds, 4 of them was corrupted and the sound was muddy. very disappointed.

Clarity of sound is poor even with windmuff, also takes many tries to connect though Bluetooth even though device is recommended.. waisting presious filming time when needed...

Bluetooth connect doesn't work with all android devices. You can connect the device to the smartphone but a lot of the phones don't have the software options to pick the external connected mic. When you do find one that works you have to remember to disconnect the Bluetooth before trying to playback what you have recorded because it sees the device as a playback device too. I think this is a limitation with Android rather than the DJI Mic 2. It would be nice if they had an app for android that would resolve these 'issues'. The mic is pretty incredible though. The sound pickup is great, even through Bluetooth and the wind muff works really well. If you are buying to use for Android smartphone audio/video recording, make sure your device is capable of selecting the external mic, or you will be disappointed.
