Noticed the use by dates on all we bought were short dates so no way roasted to order. But lucky for us we drink a lot of coffee so have nearly used it all .

Silky smooth? indeed a fine espresso .Loses a star for any other style of coffee due to a lack of any distinct character: try this company's Ernesto for something with more of everything

I bought this as a present for my mum who is a coffee lover and have tried it several times myself.Decided to buy this one after some research on the best coffees and this came at a sweetspot in the market and is to my taste; it is rich, full bodied, and strong but without blowing your head off.

Disappointed as to how mild it is.

I found the taste to be a bit bland for what it worth. Not terrible, but not the 'premium' taste either. For me the benchmark is standard supermarket Columbian beans, medium roast. This coffee costs more, but tastes worse (in my opinion) -- I am not going to buy it again.

I bought this awful product on the strength of the 2 very positive, though brief, reviews. At first glance it is indeed impressive - the dark beans glisten with golden promise - but there is nothing golden about this coffee. It is blend of poor quality beans giving a lack of flavour with an unpleasant aftertaste and no way the "creme de la creme of coffee blends" stated on Coffee Direct's website. The whole point of blending is surely to compensate for weaknesses but even Coffee Direct rates the flavour as only 5/10 and recommends the purchaser to "use it as a base for all your favourite filter coffees". I suggest that if you wish to experiment then buy the small pack.
