RedwoodHamble BB-FC114G Textilene Reclining Chair - Green

We bought this as a companion to our Lafuma chair - at a third of the price - so were interested to see how it compares. The short answer is very favourably. The Textoline is 2cm narrower, half a kilo lighter (at 7 kilos vs 7.5) , and doesn't recline as flat - the lafuma lets you end up with your feet higher than your body, but the Textoline doesn't go back that far. However it is just as comfortable in normal positions, and equally smart. Negatives: the locking mechanism is inferior, and it arrived in a polythene bag inside a grey plastic bag, so no surprise to find a bit of scuffing on the top corner of the frame. Should have been in a cardboard box. But we did receive the pillow (it seems not everyone does). In short, for its price, a bargain.

Good quality, surprisingly comfy considering it's just one layer of plastic (comfier than standard cushioned recliners) and the fact that you can lie right back (not quite horizontally but a good way back) is great, however my only gripe is with the built in cushion that slides up and down - it needs a velcro fastening system so that you can tighten it to stay in one place so that's why it has lost one star.

Really comfortable in sitting and lying positions. I can't quite see the point of the "locks". I found that it didn't really lock at all. You certainly can't lock it midway between sitting and lying. And to be honest if I lock it when sitting up I can still lean back....and vice versa.However I only ever need those two positions and it doesn't fall back or anything. Really comfy.

I bought two. One of these has twisted legs - it won't sit flat on the ground without wobbling from side to side. No time to send back. Think if I put something on one side of the bottom bar at one end, it will even the leg up and make it sit still. Comfortable. stays where you put it either sitting or lying. Looks good. Feels safe.

GREAT--BUT !!!!! Ok I just bought 2 of these and the quality, colour , comfort, is just great. I really love them and they are just what i was looking for at a great price. BUT, one came without a head rest and Amazon will only send a new one as opposed to just a head rest. As another review said 'yours may or may not come without a head rest. Its a little thing, but annoying. Apart from that they are GREAT and Amazon are sending a new one to me in 3 days and then the old one (without the head rest will be returned) will go back on the same van. (BTW Amazon did offer a £6 partial refund--but I wanted the things matching).

Quite a heavy chair which needs some weight to recline- as I am a wee thing I have to throw myself back to recline it. Package was beaten up cardboard. Luckily the chair survived the post.

Was difficult to work out how to recline at first but worked out if you push down on the foot bar as you lean back you can recline in a controlled way. The instructions don't say this but to hold onto the armrests at the rings. Once mastered it is comfy and sturdy to hold me

I held off putting a review on until I had used this for a while. It has been 5 months and the chair is still going strong. Being a hearty 17 stone I was dubious of the material ripping but having used it constantly for 5 months nothing has torn! I would highly recommend. It is very comfortable and easy to flatten down. The mechanism to tilt the chair back is a bit stiff at first but perseverance will make it move smoother.
