A sweet protein boost with some trade-offs
If you're looking for a protein-packed snack that still satisfies your sweet tooth, the Mars protein chocolate caramel cookies are a decent option. Each cookie is individually wrapped, making them super convenient for on-the-go snacking or portion control. The chocolate chunks and caramel pieces add some much-needed sweetness, helping to balance out the usual dryness found in protein snacks. That said, the texture is quite dense, which might not be for everyone. It’s also got that distinct ‘protein snack’ taste, which can feel a little artificial. While it does the job of delivering a protein boost with some indulgence, it’s not quite the same as a traditional cookie. These feel like a good quality product and they definitely show that with the tasteOverall, a solid choice for those prioritizing protein, but if you're after a true cookie experience, you might find the taste and texture a little lacking.

Good enough
These aren’t as good as I expected them to be but Theyr ok! Good high protein snack! Same cal as a subway cookie! Chips are a bit hard and the cookie it self is a bit soft but good if you like a biscuit with your tea/coffee

Great Cookie
Actually very nice, it's a protein cookie. It's a bit chewy versus a normal cookie, but it's nice to have Mars chocolate in a protein cookie. Which is what this is.

Decent tasting soft and chewy protein cookie
With 15g of protein per cookie, these contain 50% more protein than an average protein bar. They also have 12g of fat per cookie (3.5g of which are saturates) and 23g of sugar. All quite high compared to other protein bars. With that amount of sugar comes a lot of sweetness, the cookies are very tasty, although I do have a sweet tooth. They are chewy soft, with moderately hard caramel chips. They are slightly grainy inside. They do a good job of filling a hole. It's very much like eating a normal large cookie, and whereas some protein bars sap the moisture out your mouth, these do not do that.At todays price of £16.14, these work out at £1.35 a bar, a great price. In the shops these would be nearly double that. Tasty!

OK flavour, high in sugar, but good protein content
These have an OK flavour and texture – I would not rate them any higher than that – but they have a good protein content and are convenient to travel with.On texture, they are chewy and soft. I much prefer crispy cookies, but I know some people like soft ones. There is a lot of humectant added to these (glycerine) – it is second on the ingredients list, before brown sugar, which itself is in front of chocolate chips at 9%. So at least a tenth of the cookie by weight is humectant, possibly significantly more. I do not need any of that.On flavour, these taste significantly under-baked to me, though, with a slightly doughy/raw flavour and a certain amount of grittiness that I presume is from undissolved/undercooked sugar granules.Talking of sugar, it is disappointing these are so high in sugar. The protein content is good, but they have at least as much raw sugar in there too, which detracts, for me, from the benefits from the protein. The caramel chips are quite hard and not particularly pleasant (nothing at all like the caramel in a regular Mars bar).Overall, the flavour is not bad, if you like doughy/undercooked flavours, but there is also a bit of that "taste of protein bar" – I am not sure if it's the protein mix with soya, or the fortification, or what. So you know you're eating a protein bar, but I can stomach them and I am after a protein boost. Other protein bars often have similar problems with flavour and texture, but I find the ones with peanuts in can often approach the level of a regular treat. These alas do not.And one final point: the box I received had a manufacturing date on it and they were already four months old (see my photo – it's mid Feb 2025 right now and they were made mid October last year). Sure they last quite a while, but I was somewhat surprised they took four months to get to me via some warehouse somewhere.[Update] My wife tried one of these and hated it. She couldn't finish it. She said it was way too sweet, and also noted the gritty texture and undercooked doughiness. So there's one more data point for you. I also tried re-baking a couple in my air fryer to see if I could crispen them up a bit and get them to taste more like a proper cookie and less like a slab of humectant-filled gritty dough, but it didn't help. I have eaten a few of these now, and I have to admit that I am liking them less and less the more I have.
