Up and over garages are quite easy to ‘pop’, so an extra layer of security is essential.Fairly easy to fit, just make sure you have an SDS drill with 10mm and 16mm concrete bits.The lock does suffer from some rusting and can be awkward to unlock sometimes, but a blast of penetrating fluid should fix that.There is some movement between the white bar and the lock, so it’s not a fully solid item. It will likely put off or stop a casual thief, but a determined burglar will be able to defeat it, but will make lots of noise in the process!Always think in layers-Combined with other deterrents such as lighting and cctv should make a good combination to keep your valuables safe!

Requires a large 16mm masonry drill bit, an allen key (can't remember the size) and a powerful hammer drill for making the two required holes. Relatively easy to fit if you have those, took about half an hour. Very strong, no indication of it being easy to break or damage. The padlock is very large and sturdy, an odd mechanism to get used to but works ok.The padlock is showing signs of rusting after only two weeks with only a couple of rain showers, so that is my only concern that it will rust up and become too difficult to use. I will be applying some WD40, to try and keep it in good condition.I've removed the stickers from mine (came off easily) to make it stand out a little less, but be aware this thing is big and sticks out quite a bit so it does draw attention.

Great idea. I do wish 1 thing though, I think it should come with screws, I was pretty frustrated when I cut the concrete out to level the surface only to find when I opened the box that I had to drive all all the way town to get 3 bolts. Seriously guys for £70ish quid stick 3 bolts in the box.

Easy to install with a 16mm bit and a hammer drill. Had to chisel away some uneven concrete to get it to lay completely flat,but that's nothing to do with the product.I did manage to bend the stop backwards when i misused it as an anchor for pulling back my trailer, proving it is not the strongest and enough brute force might be able to bend it out of the way but probably not enough for the door to totally clear it. That said, this is a great piece of kit, the lock is tough and simple to use. It's great as a first line deterrent and significantly improved the security of the garage door.

This device works really well and is also a good visual deterrent for would be thieves. It's very heavy duty but is a bit awkward to fit. Make sure you have all the right tools: powerful hammer drill and large bit and strong arms. Once fitted it is easy to unlock and lock back into place though and gives peace of mind to keep your garage safe.

Excellent product. The lock on the garage door kept being unlocked, we think by a tramp for sleeping in as nothing was ever taken, so to make our garage more secure we fitted this to the front of the door. It took my husband most of the day to fit it as he had to drill down into concrete but we are very pleased with the result and it has made the garage much more secure.

Looks good, fits good. The only thing i would like is the plate that gets secured to the ground has three holes and only two bolts is delivered in the kit.Three would be great as it would not cost that much more and give people the choice of using two or three themselves. Saying that i am very happy with it and will look to get another one soon

Make sure you read the instructions and screw the anchors to the base first as the masonry anchors wont budge once pushed in to the holes.Although it wont stop a determined thief I am sure it will put most of the off.Only down side is you can scrape your knuckles removing the key from the lock if you are not careful.Recommended
