The iDventure Cluebox Pro - Sherlock’s Camera is a fantastic puzzle box that brings an escape room vibe right to your hands. Crafted from high-quality wood, it’s designed like a retro camera with a Sherlock Holmes twist. The puzzles are tricky and clever - kept my husband engaged for over an hour as he worked through the locks and clues. It’s perfect for puzzle lovers (including adults) who enjoy a challenge. The only downside? Some clues could be clearer for beginners. Still, it’s reusable, beautifully made, and a great gift idea! Fits in the palm of two hands. Great value for money.

The box is well-built, I thought it might be more rough or loose, but for the most part, it was tightly assembled. Of course, some parts that move or were removable were not so tight, but that's to be expected. The complexity of the puzzles is ingenious, and the clues are very clever. I gave this to my wife and she dug into it, she's already two puzzles solved before taking a break. Some pieces come off of the puzzle on purpose, some don't. It's sturdy, but don't force any part to move if it doesn't want to. At the worst, you might have to wiggle a piece a little, but otherwise, it's built to move like it does. Definitely note the dimensions of the secret compartment, but also be aware that the opening on that compartment is not a perfect rectangle. Your gift/prize that you might hide in there needs to be very, very small, or soft/flexible to fit inside/get back out. Smaller than, say, a chapstick tube. Also, be aware that you will have to completely solve the box to hide your present inside, and then completely un-solve it. Have a walkthrough handy, and give yourself about 30-45 minutes to just do the bare minimum to get it open and closed again. There's a lot of steps! But that will also give you an appreciation for the puzzles' depth. A good challenge for your favorite smarty pants! I certainly think it's worth the price.

The puzzle logic itself is great, very fun to play around with in small bursts while watching TV. Of the three iDventure boxes I've done (this one, Camelot, Davy Jones), it's the most cleverly designed. However, either I got a bad unit or it was banged up in shipping because there were a number of issues which impacted my ability to solve the puzzle and forced me to look up the solution to multiple steps even though I knew what I was supposed to do. - Some of the fasteners which hold the puzzle frame together were loose, which made me question if they were intended to be removed. - One of the wood dials attached to a plastic piece fell off. Not a big deal because it can easily be put back on but it would need glue to permanently stay in place and it's annoying when it falls into the puzzle - A step which involves pushing on a component required an amount of force that felt too high which made me think I was doing something wrong. The visual cue also mislead me into thinking I was missing a step. - Components on the last step did not rotate smoothly which again lead me to believe I had done something wrong or was missing a step. - The last step is a bit ambiguous and I don't really agree with the "correct" last symbol after looking it up

My partner loved doing this. It took him a few hours to get together and he has offered his friends to try. It looks great as decoration and it is great quality. I would consider this a good value considering how long it took him to complete the puzzle.

I have purchased and enjoyed all the other idventure clueboxes. And though all their clueboxes are great, to me, Sherlock's Camera is the best one so far. It took me way more time to solve than the max 120 min that is suggested. Each day I looked forward to relaxing while trying to solve one of the many puzzles within this beautiful puzzle box. It's obvious that a lot of thought and craftsmanship went into the creation of this puzzle box which alone is outstanding. Some have said that they didn't understand some of the clues. I admit that myself, but not many. However, after completing the cluebox, then looking at the idventure website solution page, I then understood the connection of the clues to the puzzle. In my opinion, this is a tough puzzle and not for a child under the suggested age of 14. The camera stand must be assembled and should be handled carefully as it is more delicate. Maybe in few cases may need a dab of glue to increase it's sturdiness, though I didn't need any glue. For me, this in no way effects rating this beautiful, displayable cluebox. I can promise that you will not regret it if you purchase Sherlock's Camera cluebox from idventure. They also have other great clueboxes too. If you're into good puzzle boxes check em out.
