Good sensor!
We have a storage shed away from our home. There are some semi-valuables in there that we don't want to have stolen. After hearing from neighbors that some sheds were broken in to recently, we decided to put an alarm on it. This sensor is great: with our alarm system. And the signal can reach our main box which is over 30 yards away. Was easy to install, not too expensive, and gives us peace of mind that our place is safe, and if it isn't, we will know It does exactly what it needs to do.

Used with an Elk M1 Gold
I bought a couple of these sensors to use with the GE receiver on my Elk M1 Gold.1) The sensor is big. Use it in those places where size and appearance don't matter. Large sensor does have it's advantages - nice big battery, plenty of room for screw terminals. If you want something where appearance does matter that you can actually hide, then I'd suggest one of those Ion Plungers instead.2) It can be wired with external contacts, which suited my application. You have to configure it for external contacts both via a physical jumper and via an "option" setting on the Elk M1.Generally, I've been please with this sensor.

Works and easy to install
Great product, Fast Prime Shipping, Works like a charm.Absolutely easy to program into my Simon XT and had it up and running in less than 5 minutes. Replaced an old sensor (several years old) that was experiencing some RF interference. Nice that it also has a hard wired connect block in case you need it to install in areas a long way from the main unit or are getting RF interference.Excellent sensor for the price.

Internal reed switches OR terminal block, not both.
This sensor is larger than the standard door sensor, but it has a larger battery and the built in terminal block. I bought 2 of these to secure 2 sets of 2 windows in 2 different rooms. Since the windows are side-by-side I did not want to buy 2 wireless sensors per window-group, but instead buy just one per room and connect a wired sensor to the adjacent window in each room. My original idea was to use the internal reed switch for one window and an external wired sensor for the other. I found that this cannot be done! There is a jumper inside the unit. Jump pins 1-2 for the side reed switch, jump pins 2-3 for the top reed switch, and pull the jumper off altogether for the wiring block. I ended up pulling the jumper off, then wiring 2 external contacts in series to go to each window. A terminating resistor is needed for the external connection which was thankfully provided. Screws are also provided, but you will have to provide your own double-sided tape if you prefer mounting it that way.

Works fine for doors
It works with my Simon XT, but i was honestly surprised at how incredibly HUGE this thing is.The transmitter is the size of a grown man's thumb. Works fine for doors, but i wanted it for a window - ended up having to move another sensor to the window so i could put this on a door.
