Works well with linux, no problems at all, good image quality
I only got this just over a week ago but I figure I should give a review, for whatever it is worth, quickly as models run out of stock and are probably just replaced by something else. I immediately blew away windows and installed linux, after hopping a few distros I ended up on Mint 22.2 and installed KDE Plasma 6. Everything works great, no hardware hassles at all on linux, even with the other distros I tried installing first, no hardware issues just they weren't for me on a laptop. I notice that this feels very quick all of the time and sips power unless doing something extreme like 3D gaming. Screen is very bright, at night you will find yourself using it at 5% brightness, which is plenty bright. Colors are vibrant and fairly accurate, I think this has an IPS panel (in mine at least) and those do well with color accuracy. I am able to type quickly on the keyboard, the mousepad works fine and the pads of my hand don't accidentally trigger it when I am typing. The RAM is upgradable to 64GB (should have done this as soon as I bought it lol, DDR5 prices just shot through the roof thanks to the AI hyperscalers trying to monopolize hardware). The NVME SSD is also upgradable. It feels like it is well enough made. If I had any complaint at all is I wish it charged with USB-C instead of a barrel connector, as it is more versatile now and frankly I have never personally seen a USB-C connector fail on a device yet. Anyways, overall very happy I wasn't certain this would work with linux but it has been a totally problem-free experience.

perfect for sims and autocad
i use mine for AutoCAD, never lags, absolutely perfect, NEVER GO ANYWHERE WITHOUT THE CHARGER!! dies in an hour or two but for the performance i think that range is typical. Sims 4 also runs smoothly.

Wonderful Laptop until it wasn't
I purchased this laptop for while I was in the hospital, i'd have something to use between doctor visitations etc. I havent quite made it to one yet and the CPU isnt doing well. Im getting blue screens of death, it wont even enter into automatic repair it just keeps bluescreening and shutting down. I've read that a windows update was bricking hard drives, so I swapped the hard disk hoping that would fix the issue, no dice.. while I had it open, I also tested the memory slots, by removing single sticks of ram, and swapping them around, and even completely removing both sticks of ram. In windows the Bluescreen error rotated through several different ones but the one that came up the most was: WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR. it wasnt until I loaded a few different versions of linux that I was starting to get a good clear picture of the problem. Im hoping either Amazon or MSI will help here. I am still giving this laptop a 5 star review because it was a robust device and worked very well until this very abruptly broke.

MSI M16: A great computer with a few manageable drawbacks
Let's get this out of the way first - the cons: The MSI M16 is a bulky, heavy beast of a computer. Its touchpad sucks, its battery life is mediocre, and the black plastic shell attracts fingerprints like a shower drain gathers hair. It would also be great if it had a MicroSD card slot, but I acknowledge that's what adapters are for. The pros: Everything else about the laptop is great. Performance is super smooth, not very loud or hot even when playing modern graphics games like Baldur's Gate 3 or Red Dead Redemption. Works well for 3D design, word processing, etc. as well. Speakers are good, and the cooling hex design on the underside is pretty cool looking. 3 regular USB ports, a USB-C port, HDMI, Ethernet, and a headphone jack cover pretty much all the bases in terms of inputs/outputs. If you can get it on sale, it's well worth the $1100 sale price. I wouldn't pay $1.5k or more for it, but it's a great computer at the price point.

Great laptop
Fast computer for the price it's great, what I don't like it does not have the numerical keyboard, if you work with numbers you need to purchase an externalkeyboard, the size and weight has been thought to be a portable.

I really like it!
I got the model with the i7-13620H, RTX 4060, 1TB SSD, and 32gb RAM Pros: fast as heck, lightweight, beautiful display with a taller screen (great for editing portrait-orientation photos), good value, lots of ports, decent battery life (considering capability and weight), 10-key included, and a simple, understated design without a rainbow keyboard Cons: no SD slot on a "creator" series laptop, confusing 10-key layout with non-dedicated home/end/pg up/pg down buttons. Overall, I really like this laptop and I'm more than happy to give it 5 stars. I use a USB-C to SD card adapter which I can easily swap between my phone and computer, so that's not a huge hassle. I mostly use this laptop for lightroom and photoshop, and it works great! However, why can't I get an exact replacement charger on Amazon or from MSI's website? I'd like a backup and I don't want to risk a third-party AC adapter.

Broke quickly without reason.
It stopped working in a year. Been using computers over twenty years, I know the do’s and don’ts of how to treat them. This one, with minimal usage as well, gave out just after the one year mark. Contacted CS, synopsis is I can spend hundreds of dollars shipping it to them and have them repair it for possibly hundreds more. Since this laptop is already a hardy $1300, this is beyond unacceptable.
