1/21/2026 The handle is coming off the pot. My fault. This is a product I really like. I use it multiple times a day. Can I buy a new pot for a reasonable price? I have only had it a few days so cannot comment on longevity. But its build quality looks good, and the electronics work easily and correctly right out of the box. I did not buy the cheapest listed on Amazon, but this is not far from it. Beautiful packing... My first thought was I would give this as a gift. Glossy black box, high quality glossy inserts and guide (although it is obvious that English is not a first language it is understandable.) So, on to the machine. It has the same high quality and elegant appearance as its box and packing. Controls are very easy to understand and use. By the time my coffee is ground the water is ready. The temperature hold is very helpful. I used to have to stand over the stove and watch water boil. Now it is set and forget. If I walk away, or during the pour itself, the temperature is maintained without boiling over. Oh, it did not have a that horrible lip on top that traps water. I have seen only a very little water in the bottom of the pot after draining. I did check the water temperature with my lab thermometer, and it was within one degree on the boil and on the hold. So, good quality, good performance and great looks. I will give one to my son for Christmas. Now it's just a question of how long it will last. Total time from grind to finish was 11 minutes. that included preheating the pour over pot and the cup with hot tap water.

Great kettle! Bought it for pour overs at home. Heats up fairly quickly and the gooseneck gets the job done, but does have a slightly quicker pour than I would like. My only gripe is that it doesn’t hold temp when you put it back on the stand, so you have to click the button to heat again each time. Not a huge deal, just minor inconvenience when making pour over coffee (and when you tend to be a little forgetful).

AT FIRST, I DECIDED TO JUST QUICK-TAP THE HEATING BUTTON TO TURN THE HEATER OFF AFTER USAGE, BUT BECAUSE OF THE WAY THIS BUTTON INTERACTS WITH THE 'HOLD HEAT' BUTTON, WHICH I ALSO USE, IT WOULD FAIL TO TURN THE KETTLE OFF. BUT I WOULDN'T NOTICE THIS, AND I WOULD SIT DOWN AND HEAR CRACKING NOISES FROM THE KETTLE AND REALIZE I HAD PUT THE EMPTY KETTLE BACK ON WITH THE HEAT STILL HIGH. THIS IS OF COURSE VERY NO BUENO FOR THE KETTLE, TO APPLY HEAT TO EMPTY KETTLE. NO BUENO. SO, CONFOUND IT, IN THE INTEREST OF CARING WELL FOR THE KETTLE AND TO NOT MAKE THIS MISTAKE AGAIN, I DECIDED I WOULD SIMPLY COMMIT TO LONG-PRESSING THE 'OFF' BUTTON EVERY TIME I USE IT. NOW, THIS MIGHT SEEM LIKE A MINOR ISSUE - WHAT'S 3 SECONDS IN THE GRAND SCHEME OF THINGS? WELL, I'LL TELL YOU. I MAKE COFFEE IN THE MORNING, TEA ONCE OR TWICE DURING THE DAY, AND OFTEN TEA AT NIGHT. SO 3-4 USES PER DAY. THAT'S 9-12 SECONDS I MUST SPEND LONG-PRESSING THIS DEVICE PER DAY. LET'S USE 10 AS A NICE ROUND NUMBER. THAT'S 70 SECONDS PER WEEK, 3640 SECONDS PER YEAR, AND ASSUMING I LIVE ANOTHER THIRTY YEARS OR SO, THAT'S 109,200 SECONDS OF LONG-PRESSING THIS STUPID BUTTON THROUGHOUT THE REMAINDER OF MY LIFETIME. NOW THAT'S 1820 HOURS, OR ABOUT 75 DAYS OF MY ENTIRE REMAINING LIFE ON THIS EARTH OF LONG-PRESSING THIS OFF BUTTON JUST TO ENSURE I DON'T LEAVE THE KETTLE ON HIGH HEAT WHILE EMPTY. NOW THAT BOTHERED ME QUITE A LOT INITIALLY. THAT'S SO MUCH TIME IN MY LIFE I COULD SPEND DOING MORE IMPORTANT THINGS, LIKE LOOKING AT MY PHONE OR SITTING IN MY ARMCHAIR OR WATCHING TV OR PLAYING VIDEO GAMES. BUT INSTEAD, I HAVE TO STAND LIKE A DWEEB FOR MULTIPLE SECONDS A DAY LONG-PRESSING THIS DEVICE TO TURN IT OFF. OVER TIME, THAT ADDS UP! I WAS GOING TO GIVE THIS KETTLE 4 STARS FOR THIS REASON. BUT LISTEN. I TRIED TO CHANGE ATTITUDE. I BEGAN SPENDING THOSE 3 SECONDS EACH LONG-PRESS THINKING ABOUT LIFE. I BEGAN TO THINK ABOUT THE MEANING OF LIFE. AND, NO, I HAVEN'T FIGURED IT OUT YET, BUT I THINK GIVEN THE THOUSAND-PLUS HOURS OF LONG-PRESSING THIS BUTTON THAT I HAVE TO LOOK FORWARD TO IN THE COMING DECADES, I MIGHT ACTUALLY JUST BEGIN TO DISCOVER SOME REAL, DEEP MEANING IN LIFE FROM THE CUMULATIVE 3-SECOND LONG PRESS MEDITATIONS. AND, I LIKE TO THINK THAT THIS RE-ORIENTING OF THE USE OF THIS TIME MAY JUST YIELD GREATER 'DIVIDENDS' THAN SCROLLING POLITICAL CONTENT OR WATCHING VIDEOS OF BABIES OR CATS. BUT, ONLY TIME WILL TELL. BUT THIS MUCH I CAN SAY, THE MECITY ELECTRIC KETTLE HAS CHANGED MY LIFE ALREADY, CAUSING ME TO LEARN TO SLOW DOWN, TO TAKE TIME TO THINK, TO MEDITATE, TO PONDER THE DEPTHS OF LIFE AND THE MYSTERIES THEREOF. AND FOR THAT, I HAVE THE PERHAPS ADEQUATE UX ENGINEERS OF THE MECITY ELECTRIC KETTLE TO THANK. 5/5 STARS

Was a bit apprehensive about moving on from my old kettle, but after scorching my morning coffee all the time, decided to get something with better temperature control. This kettle also looks stunning! Very first thing I did was disable the beeping, wow the default is annoying! As long as I keep it plugged in it remembers my last settings, which is good enough. The timer can also help to properly pace a pour over... realized my pour over was taking too long due to very fine grind. Got a proper food scale to measure amount of coffee and using this for temp control and timing the drip... my coffee cup is now amazing! As you can see in picture, the temp is slightly off, about 1-2F cooler than displayed, but I consider that acceptable for high end of temp range... coffee should be brewed between 200-205F. At lower temps (below 200F), it's spot on! Love the hold feature! It takes an extra minute or two for it to hit the temp, but that's to ensure water doesn't get too hot. Since it will hold the temp, I can walk away and come back several minutes later!
