Brilliant product works great with iphone
Firstly very impressed with the fast free delivery and dispatch(not Prime). The Heatmiser is so easy to wire and includes the ablity to have 2 extra sensors fitted! The display is very clear and look amazing! Its program is also very easy and works well.Wifi connection is good and setup ok. The app works good and has some great features. My only real issue/moan, was the app needs a email confirmation, however my ISP blocked it as spam. unfortunately the email confirmation needs to be confirmed in 2hrs, so you guess it, I found it 2hrs & 5mins afterwards... okay so no problem, I will re-register, but no, the email is still in use and the password can be changed but still can not resend the confirmation. So that email is locked out.re-registered with new email address and no problems.Brilliant product works great with iphone

Mostly Good, couple of minor bugs
This review is for the SmartStat Progammable Room Thermostat in Glacier White. I would have given it 5 stars except for a couple of niggles. It very occasionally goes offline and needs to be turned on and off to get it working again. this would be a problem if I was on the other side of the world and and wanted to warm the house up for my return. However my thermostat takes its power from the existing Honeywell programmer which is normally set to constant on, but if I'm away I set the Honeywell programmer to be off for 10 minutes during the night. This resets the SmartStat and allows the WiFi to reconnect. Its not a perfect solution, but it works. I propose to install a WiFi switch into the power supply to the Honeywell programmer to achieve more control. The other problem is that you can't carry your comfort level past midnight, transfers this overnight setting to the previous period, a bit annoying but not a big deal, there may be a solution to this but I haven't found it yet.I basically use this thermostat as a switch for controlling the system while I'm away, all my radiators have TRVs so I don't need "learning thermostats" which require hubs and connections to the boiler, your heating your house, you don't need to over complicate it. Using the app., which is really the only reason for installing these thermostats, tells you all you need to know ie. how cold the house is and do I need to turn it on now so its warm when I get home, most people know how long it takes their house to warm up, you don't really need an algorithm. App works fine from a Samsung S6 and S7.Installing the SmartStat was fairly simple, I was replacing an old 2 wire Honeywell mechanical thermostat. Using the Switch Live Output wiring diagram you just need to add a neutral wire and run it back to any common neutral connection. I ran mine back to the old programmer, it was the closest point, but any neutral connection should work okay. The live and switch live are the same as the old thermostat. One last thing don't forget to connect the L and the COM together, I did at first, and it didn't work.

Probably perfectly good thermostat but.....
No No No No No. I don't want to create an account with Heatmiser just to access this thermostat. There should be an option to access it direct.Unfortunately all manufacturers seem to be going this way.BECA is one that you don't have to create an account for, although you still have to use their servers, so not ideal.

The software does not match a great looking thermostat
A great looking thermostat let down by very poor software. The biggest problem for me is that it does not employ TPI control. It seems to simply operate on a very basic principle of switching off the boiler when the temperature is reached. The result is that, in my case, there was a large temperature overshoot. Similarly, it waits until the temperature has dropped below the target set before it switches on the boiler. So, overall I was seeing a temperature fluctuation of more than 1.5 degrees. TPI control overcomes this by measuring the rate at which temperature changes and switching on the boiler for a variable amount of time in order to maintain a fixed room temperature. It works well and is more efficient. The mobile phone application was really very poor. I found it erratic and often it would overwrite the program settings. In my opinion this product was released well before it was ready. I sent this thermostat back and got a refund.

Quick, simple, efficient
A doddle to install. Took me about 10 minutes and 3 wires to connect.Free iPhone app, again simple to setup. Now I can control my heating from anywhere in the world.

Well made, simple to setup.
Excellent little thermostat, good value compared to the other smart thermostats available. Very easy to setup and connect to Wifi. The user interface and Comfort Modes (schedule) is very intuitive, you just choose when you wake up, when you leave the house and when you return and what temperature you want at each time. By default, it starts heating at these times, instead of making sure it is at that temp at that time. This can be changed by enabling "Optimum Start".Only minor niggle is the Android app is a little buggy, works fine to view and set temp, but sometimes crashes when going into the advanced settings. Have yet to try the GPS/Geo location features of the app.

Very poor build I think
I wanted to like it but the first unit failed quickly. Started to buzz and get warm then the screen failed. Second unit failed too, screen went on and off and unit froze. Unit re wired and same issue. In process of being returned.
