108-ct. Ceylon Tea Chest

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my mom and she loved it. She and I are both tea lovers and I thought this would make a good gift because we could enjoy the tea together and she can keep the faux leather chest to organize her many boxes of random tea bags. We tried many of the different flavors and I was always pleasantly surprised at the taste. The chest itself looks and feel great. It would make a great gift for any tea lover in your life.

If you are buying this thinking you are getting good teas you are not. The teas have names like Orange Spice, Tropical Delight, Ginger, Apple Cinnamon which are typically indicative of being herbal non-caffeinated teas. In fact each I opened are black tea with a mild flavoring clearly applied to the tea. Many want these teas with these flavors in the evening and without caffeine. From what I can tell they are all caffeinated. When brewed they have almost none of the flavor indicated on the packet. Additionally the amount of tea in each bag is small and it may take 2 tea bags for anything over 6 ounces of water. The case is nice and I immediately emptied it with plans to use the terrible Ceylon tea bags for sun tea to try to extract some value from them. I then ordered other herbal teas from Amazon and restocked the case. Just know if you buy this "Tea Chest" you are buying it for the case. If I had to do it over I would have just bought a nicer case, wood perhaps and then a variety of herbal tea packs and stocked it myself.

This was purchased for an 87 yr old tea lover - she loves all the flavors that come with this set and loves the boxed display. Was a great gift and when I go have tea with her, she is very proud to be able to offer me these teas. We talked about the varieties in this set and she says that this set offers her a chance to try different flavors that, being housebound, she would otherwise not be able to try without buying a large box. GREAT PRODUCT!

I always read the reviews when I buy anything at Amazon. They are usually always "right on". I read the reviews and still ordred. The buyers that gave this tea 4 or 5 stars are basically the ones that gave this for gifts. The ones that gave lesser stars are the ones that actually used the tea. The ones that gave as gifts - you are correct - very nice box and presentation. The ones that used the tea - you are correct - the tea does all taste the same. If you had not read the flavor label, you could never guess the flavor. Very weak and very bland. I would not reorder.

This is a very nice box with a good selection of tea, and I was pleased with it. However, the reason I gave it four stars is because like all tea chests, it contains both Earl Grey and English Breakfast, two teas I am not fond of. I realize most people think these are staples of bagged teas, but when they are in practically every single tea chest you buy, you get tired of it and I personally don't care for either one. It would be nice if someone would allow you to choose the teas you want in the chest when you purchase it.

Good selection of good teas, but the box is cardboard. I bought this for a gift and was a little embarrassed by the box - I had to add to the gift to make it appropriate.

I didn't try the tea because it was a gift. The box and the presentation was beautiful -- much more expensive looking than what I paid for a gift. The recipient raved about the tea. I was really happy that a reasonable gift could look and taste so nice.

The rich looking box with the colorful & varied tea selection was most inviting & just perfect as a gift for a tea lover. I would recommend this purchase to anyone who is trying to find a gift for someone who already has everything! I was delighted with this tea chest.
