I’m an electronics technician. I bought these for a friend, just looking for a very inexpensive meter that he could occasionally use to check batteries or test for broken connections. I’m not gonna compare it to my $200 Fluke meter, what for what it is and what it costs, it does the job. It doesn’t have such a tiny form factor that it’s like a total toy, and that’s a plus. So this is fine to keep in a drawer for occasional use, or on a workbench for regular use as long as you don’t subject it to a beating. For those you might buy something like this for very occasional use, a good tip is to open it up and remove the battery. A leaking or swelling battery could damage the unit. On that note, my friend said he wished that he could remove the batteries for that purpose without having to take a couple screws out. Good point, I suppose…
