This unit works well for its intended purpose. I'd say it actually is the best out there for a specific cooling use case; namely, overclocking your BitAxe Gamma 601. The cooling capacity and overall cooling of the unit is exceptional. I was not impressed with the build quality or the noise level of the stock fan, so I swapped that out for a Noctua NF-A6x15 5V PWM, kept the mounting ears that came with the stock unit, purchased an additional Bitaxe 60mm Fan Adapter for mounting the Noctua to the heat sink from NerdRoots, which provides the exact amount of additional height needed to mount the combined assembly (Noctua fan + adapter) to the heat sink using the mounting ears that came with the stock fan. Additionally, the Noctua fan was plug and play with my BitAxe fan headers, so make sure you check your headers against the Noctua wiring diagrams first to ensure your BitAxe headers are a match, otherwise some splicing may be required. One last thing, you'll also need a Bitaxe Argon THRML 60mm Radiator Cooler Heatsink Socket Adapter - also conveniently sold by NerdRoots (I am not NerdRoots - but these things are 3D printed, so if you have a printer, I'd definitely recommend saving a few bucks by looking for the schemas for these products out there and printing yourself). You'll need to remove the stock adapter that is used to mount this heat sink to a RPi (four screws on the bottom) - the BitAxe adapter is engineered to be a drop in replacement, so just attach and re-fasten and you'll be good to go! Also - I didn't have good luck with the stock thermal paste, I used some MX-6 (a very small amount and spread it on the ASIC chip prior to mounting the unit to my BitAxe PCB) and that worked perfect. Happy overclocking!

An excellent and high-quality design. Extremely quiet when configured via config.txt to activate at specific temperatures and fan speeds. It is the best cooler on the market for the Raspberry Pi 5. Rarely allows the processor to exceed 40°C, even under maximum load—though this naturally depends on your use case. I highly recommend it with confidence.

I use these on a few different BitAxe Gammas and it works like a charm! Keeps my ASIC temps between 40-50°C depending on the ambient temp 50° would be on a really hot day - just make sure if you’re getting this for a Bitaxe you also get or 3D-Print the socket so you can mount it - oh you’d need to print the fan adapter as well unless your bitaxe has the same connection as the stock fan (most don’t but I’ve seen some with it)

I used for bitaxe gamma I actually tried the 52 low profile and my bitaxe keep over heating it wasn't evenly securing to my bitaxe board I tried the argon and it worked great but I also have a 52 low pro on a different bitaxe and it works great on that so I really think its just what your device might need every device is different.
