Crunchy.
You can't beat the crunch these give any dish, Oriental or otherwise. Lovely earthy taste, and healthy. Can even eat as a snack, a great alternative to nuts or crisps.

They're Okay
I add these to stir fries and chinese curries... I'm not aware if water chestnuts are something you can buy fresh, so these tins are ideal for my use.... I'm not being harsh when I only gave 3 stars for flavour. They don't actually have a discernable flavour so far as I can see. I buy them for the texture. They add a satisfying crunch to the dishes I use them in. If 'Texture' had been a category to rate, then I would have given them 5 stars. I wouldn't say they are particularly cheap, but they're a store cupboard staple for me, so I gave 5 stars overall.

Fine quality.
What I like is the freshness. You can buy these on the vegetable shelves these days, but this canned version is fabulous. It's easily stored, lasts forever and above all keeps its crispiness. The is a definite cupboard staple on your oriental shelf.
