Nice brush, works very well and I love the color.

Wonderful, little retractable, firm, fine-pointed, fat-based, hard-to-find, perfect little brush.
I'm going to have to come back and post up a little video for this one so that you can see what i mean - I've just lost track of the brush at the moment, but I definitely wanted to clarify something that I saw in another review. And I think i understand why the person thought what they did. Someone wrote that this was solid plastic (if memory serves) and not a brush with hairs. I think they thought this because the sizing used to keep the hairs in place before you start using it is quite strong - which is actually a really good thing for the manufacturer to do with a very good, firm and pointed brush like this - so that it will hold its shape perfectly until your ready to start using it. Just know that you have to press a little harder to break the sizing on this brush. Think of it as having been set with AquaNet in the pink can with white fishnets, as opposed to a light setting spray. Lol! This 60 year old makeup artist is showing her age. Lol! This is a really good brush that is hard to find. It will do wonders for things like smudging eyeliner, but into a fine point. Like if you're trying to do a cat-eye liner with pencil. Or for the tail of an eyeprow. Or hard matte lipstick that you want to use like a lip liner to really create definition. Or any detail or crevice work because it has such a good point, but a strong wide round base. I hope that was all clear and helpful. I even hope that other reviewer reads it because it sounded to me that this is exactly what she was hoping it would be. Again, once I got mine and opened it, it mmediately made sense to me why she thought what she did. You really have to force it to break the sizing on this wonderful, little, unique, retractable, firm, pointed, hard-to-find, perfect little brush. I hope this review was helpful to you.💜💜💜

Precise & Portable – A Smart Little Brush for Detail Work
The AOU Pencil Brush is such a clever and useful little tool! I use it mostly to smudge eyeliner into a smoky look, but the firm yet flexible bristles would work well for a variety of tasks—from detail blending to precise shadow placement. The retractable design is great for travel or tossing in a makeup bag. It’s compact, hygienic, and extremely functional. Big fan!

Effective liner brush, love the tip, retractable design is meh.
This review is for the AOU PENCIL BRUSH Compact & Retractable Design for Easy Carry with Pointed Tip for Various Uses. First things: The images in this listing are confusing. This is not the "lip brush" or the "silicone tip brush", this is the "pencil brush" and has a very dense, fine-pointed brush that does a good job of holding its shape. The retractable design? Not a fan. It barely retracts, saving almost no space in your bag; it doesn't want to stay extended if you put pressure on the brush tip, and it still leaves the brush exposed to dust and debris from your bag. I think the retractable design element is the worst thing about this brush! I'd really prefer a cap. Ignore the retractable debacle, and this is a really nice precision brush with a head that both feels durable and nice on the skin. The bristles hold product well and hold their shape well. I'm really torn on whether I should give this 3 or 4 stars. Love the tip, hate the retract. Today I'm feeling 3.

Various uses for this brush
Really useful brush, can be easily used for detailing lips or eyes. The point is well done and the brush secure. I put some thick eyeliner on with a 'crayon' eye stick, but then used this brush to extend and blend it better. Another time I used it to paint my lips, mostly lining them with color and filling in with the lipstick. It allows for better precision in makeup application and is easy to hold and maneuver and it opens and descends back into the holder with no problem. One end is left uncovered with the brush hairs deeper inside facing the opening. This is nice if you clean it and then air can continue to get in. But so can lint and gunk, so I put a brush cover over it for more protection. In the end, the brush has a nice point and is still pliable so I really like it.

Great little eyeshadow brush!
This is the cutest little makeup brush that easily could be taken anywhere. It could be used for many things but I’m using it for eyeshadow. It’s small enough for detailing. I definitely recommend!

Small lip liner, perfect for when on the move
This is a cute, small lip liner brush! It’s super light with what seems to be an aluminum outer case. You twist the outer case to get the brush out. The brush has a small point, and it’s perfect for a slightly blurry lip line. I use mine to blend the edges when I line my lips with a pencil. I’ve also used it to apply pudding type lip products as liner. It’s a bit too small (and it would be so tedious) to apply a full lip, but it will do in a pinch. I’m taking one star off because the end from where the brush exits is open. Lint, dust, junk could all get in there and stick to the brush. And that’s a big yuck in my book. It comes with a little clear slip cover, and I’d highly recommend to keep the brush in it.
