Best Alloy Rim Brake Blocks
SwissStop blue are the best brake blocks I've found for alloy rims - stop well, yet don't wear the rim out really quickly. Even work in the wet (though obviously not as well). Easy to install and reasonable price for their use.

Absolutely must have replacement to standard Shimano pads
Once upgarded from Shimano pads to SwissStop I would never go back to Shimano ones - I am amazed that Shimano has not been able to present product that would even match SwissStop product. Stopping power - better than Shimano pads in dry, SUPERIOR to Shimano Pads in wet conditions Pads Wear - they wear at similar or better rate than Shimano pads Alloy Rim Wear - very reduced rim wear in comparison to Shimano pads Installation - same as Shimano pads, no issues there. They come with new replacement bolts. Bottom Line - I have tried 2 more brands other than Shimano standard pads and so far SwissStop pads are the best perfoming. I'd highly recomend if not for general use but for stopping power in wet conditions.

A marked improvement over OEM pads
Great stopping power on allow rims in the wet and on a par with disc brakes in the dry, well worth the upgrade

Different, but worth the money?
I’ve been using these for over 1000km in the hilly terrain of the Peak District. I upgraded from the standard pads that came on my bike. Wear on the pads is minimal so far, and I’ve noticed that they seem to be kinder on the rims, with less grooves from grit getting embedded in the pads. These brakes felt noticeably different when I put them on the bike at first, and didn’t require much in the way of bedding in. I’ve got them set up flat to the rim without toe-in and they don’t make any noise at all. I think that the braking performance is generally better than the stock pads although not an enlightening experience, you’ll not be shooting over the handlebars accidentally. My experience is that the compound gives you faster braking from high speed, but you’ll have to apply a bit more pressure to get slowed down fully to stop at a junction. I think this comes down to the softer compound these pads use. Value for money is something people seem to mention a lot in the comments, for me it’s not a huge deal spending more when the pads should only need replacing maybe once a year. If you’re tight for cash, you’re probably not losing out hugely in performance by going with middle of the road priced pads, though. Worth mentioning that the cost of a new rim is going to be significantly more than the price of pads however, and these do seem to be kinder on the rims than previous pads. Overall I’d say that these are solid pads and I would buy them again. Although they’re not exceptionally better than run of the mill pads, they’re definitely different. Worth giving a go to see which you prefer considering the realatively low price. I would wait until you've worn out whatever pads you've got equipped already though.

Not cheap, but worth it
Very impressed with these brake pads. They are certainly one of the more expensive sets you can buy, but the stopping power of them is surprisingly strong. Not exaggerating when I say I almost fell off my bike when I first tried them as the hard stop was so sudden compared to the last set of pads I was using! These are about as close to disc brakes as you're ever going to get with calipers and pads. Will definitely be getting these for my bike from now on.

Great improvement over cheaper pads
These SwissStop pads were an immediate improvement over the previous stock pads the bike shop had fitted. During the summer months the shop pads had worked well with no major upsets but come the winter and with road grime getting on to the braking surface they were a little underwhelming, particularly on fast downhills. The SwissStop fitted smoothly into the standard Aztek shoe and perform perfectly, there is a marked improvement in wet weather braking and I have no worries with fast descents whatever the road state. Great product.
