Best mat in my 55 years of practice
It's comfortable, it's supportive, it's grippy, it looks nice, and it's all natural. In no way is it too thick or unstable for standing poses. The rubber scent is is far better than the synthetic smell of other mats.I owned the famous black mat for many years and definitely like this one better. It feels a bit firmer and the texture is better.Very pleased with this purchase!

Total Quality!
Gorgeous, gorgeous yoga mat. Heavy weight, solid as a rock ane I know I will have this for years to come. It's easy to clean, slip resistant and gives you a good grip. It is on the very heavy side so best for your home studio in case you travel to commercial yoga studios. Color selection is very nice, doesn't seem to have that strong chemical smell found in new yoga mats. Yogi recommended!

Exactly what I was looking for (just plan on airing it out!)!
I started practicing yoga a few years ago. At the time, I only did yoga once per week, maybe even once every two weeks. Before I started I picked up a $20 yoga mat from a local store, and this worked fine for use that was sporadic, at best.Recently I dramatically increased the amount I practiced, going from once every few weeks to 3-4 times per week. With this increase, my $20 mat began to slowly but surely fall apart. I started researching mats, trying to find one that would last. I was initially surprised at how much the mats cost, but with as much as I would be using one I figured purchasing a quality mat would be a good investment. The first mat I purchased was the Manduka Pro. I read so many good reviews about this mat I figured my searching was done. However, this was not the case. Regardless of what I did, that mat was too slippery to use. I will write a more in-depth review of the Manduka mat, but the short version is I followed the break-in instructions to a tee, doing several sea-salt scrubs (and scrubbing HARD), leaving the mat to dry in the sun (as instructed . . . but don't do this with the Jade), and it was still slippery. So I returned it, resumed my search, and came across the Jade. The first Jade I purchased was the Jade Harmony. I really liked this mat because of the grip. The traction was outstanding, but it was a little too thin for my tastes. My wife liked it, though, so we kept it, and I kept looking. I came across the Fusion in a local store and could tell it was the mat I was looking for. However, they only carried the 68" mat (I am only 5' 9", but I like to have room to move from pose to pose without having to reposition myself on the mat). I had remembered a larger Fusion from searching on amazon, so when I got home I immediately ordered it. When it arrived I knew I was done searching for a mat.The Fusion has the same grip as the Harmony, and it has just a little more padding. Traction is not an issue on this mat. This was my #1 priority when searching for a mat, and having used the Fusion for a few weeks now I can say that I have not slipped once. The two negative things I read about this mat were that it smelled and that it broke down after a few months. As for the smell, that is 100% true. I aired the mat out in my garage for two weeks before I even attempted to use it. It is an all-rubber mat, and that is exactly what it smells like. Maybe the smell won't bother you, but if you decide to order this mat, go into your purchase expecting that you won't be able to use it for at least two weeks because of the smell. I do not notice the smell anymore unless I am face down on the mat, and even then it is not that noticeable. As for the Fusion breaking down, if that does happen I will update my review to state this. I've used it for a few weeks with no problems, but if it does start breaking down quickly, I don't think it would be worth the cost. For now, though, I highly recommend the Fusion. If you are looking for a mat with superior grip, and a little more padding, this is it.UPDATE: 4/3/16 - I'm still using this same mat almost two years after my original review, and the mat is still in great shape. It is not breaking apart or showing the wear and tear I expected from this material. I still 100% recommend this mat.

Super grippy with springy padding
I’d been using a Gaiam extra thick mat, which has great padding but slips around on the floor, and it also affected my balance poses because it’s so soft. I got the Jade mat because reviews said how grippy it is. And wow, what a difference. My balance poses are so much better. I also like that, although it’s not as thick as my Gaiam mat, it is certainly not thin, and it’s compressible but springs right back, so it doesn’t feel soft. With the excellent grip, it’s a perfect combination to stop you losing your poses.Having said that, I almost sent it back. Like other reviewers have said, man, was it stinky. It’s natural rubber. I had to let it off gas in the garage for three weeks and only now is it OK. It still has a rubber smell but is no longer offensive. I was excited to use it straight away and it was like doing yoga on a balloon! The garage smelled like a tire factory for weeks. I emailed the customer service team about the smell and they replied quickly. Basically, bottom line, you’ll love it, but be prepared to let it lie open for a few weeks. It’s pretty heavy, but I’m OK with that. I have a couple of carrying options—a bag and a cinch strap. This mat will likely outlive me!! It’s very good quality. Well worth the cost. And the planet got a tree. Thank you Jade Yoga :-)

Invest in your mat, people. You’ll be happy you did!!
If you love yoga, I highly recommend investing in your mat. Yes, it’s a lot it’s a lot of $$$- but well worth it. It Allowed me to focus on the yoga part- staying in flow, rather than stressing about slipping and sliding all over the place.• Worth the $$$$ ($20 per class- it’s well worth the $100 investment not to stress out about slippage, not to mention counterproductive to stress out during yoga)• Absorbent (bye, bye mat towel)• Gripage- if that’s a word, which it’s not. Grips well to both you and the floor• No more Slippage (bye, bye slip and slide- we need a REAL yoga mat here!)• Funkage- no funky smells here. Super easy to clean- swipe with wet cloth and dry. Bam, all done.• It’s awesome. Trust me. Buy it!This bad boy lasted me over five years- lots of wear and tear from regular use, eventually started to break down, and became too thin- So I’m on my second mat Jade yoga mat. Works great for hot, sweaty yoga- no slipping and sliding, and no need for a mat towel, either. Moisture absorbs almost instantly, and dries quickly too. Perfect amount cushion and support. Cleans up awesome too- 5 yrs of yoga, no mold/mildew issues and no funky stench. I’m not sure what is recommended, but I use my own cleaning mixture of essential oils, water, and witch hazel, after every use, then hang it out to fully dry- either outside or flopped over a chair.
