Don’t buy this
It is extremely difficult to get the backing off. Once I finally got it off and put the film on my husband‘s glasses it fell off after a few minutes. Save your money don’t buy this product.

Wonderful solution
This film for glasses is GREAT!Yes, it's hard to get the film off the backing. I just worked at it.It's a cling film. Glasses need to be clean to allow it to connect. And the film needs to be detached from the backing to use.I have double vision. First I used a patch on an elastic strap. That black patch was AWKWARD and very ugly. Then I got a cloth patch you fit over the leg of the glasses to cover the glass. The fibers in that material got in my eyes and agitated me. ALSO UGLY. don't get me wrong, I was very grateful to have those.A woman, who is an eye specialist, asked me why I'm using a patch that doesn't let light in... she said that the black patch dialates one eye (makes eye want to sleep) ...when the other is 'awake'Then I found these. Almost didn't buy because of 1 star.Glad I didn't listen!!!Yes, they the film is hard to separate.Yes, it won't cling if glasses aren't clean... but I'm even thinking that someone might not notice that the two parts need to be separated... and maybe they tried to use it right out of the bag without taking the backing off because it's not noticeable that it's there.I have 4 pair of glasses I've applied this film to.A clear pair of glassesReading glassesTwo sunglasses... they are very curved, so I cut the film- one pair of glasses for the left eye and one for the right. ..You can't even see that I have a patch when I wear sunglasses. That makes me feel good! The other eye glasses look so much better than the patches I was using AND I'm getting appropriate light in both my eyes at the same time!!Here is the way I figured out to take the baking off to a few attempts:I wriggle/ wrinkle the full sheet until I can separate the backing at the edge. Then I pull it apart a little and I cut off a small piece of the backing to stick between the two layers before I trace the glasses lens. Once I've trace, then I cut. That little piece that I stick between the film and the backing keeps an air pocket when I can get my fingers between the film and the backing to separate the part I trace. And VOILA!! I DID HAVE TO WORK AT IT. KEEP THE FAITH!Once I understood how to accomplish that, the 1 star complaints vanished! The cling is GOOD.The glass needs to be clean. My patch has not fallen off at all. I feel like a new person!I am intentionally giving this 5 stars - I'm thrilled to have this product.

Item works well
Once I got the backing off and applied to my glasses, I was very pleased. I used a microfiber glass cleaning cloth, which I dampened one small end and then just kept rubbing! So much better than the black pirate patches that are so annoying! Gave it a 3 stars rating because of the frustration first experienced getting it off, but perhaps it should be 5 stars!!!

It's impossible to remove the film from the patches.
Total waste of money, DO NOT BUY. There is no way to remove the "protective film" from the patch material. The patches don't stick to eyeglass lenses. It isn't even worth the one star I had to give it.

hard to remove backing doesn't stick well anyway
Unfortunately, it is very difficult to remove the backing and when you do it doesn't stick for very long.

Backing will not come off
It’s a total waste of time if you are not able to get the backing off and the backing will not come off. Don’t waste your time or money.

Once you get the backing off they work fine
Yes, it was initially a pain to get the backing off.BUT . . .There is a review with an excellent way to remove the backing.Following that advice, it has been in position for over two weeks and no issues with the piece coming off.Another helpful hint: trim a piece of paper to make a template. Cut the template a bit smaller than the lens; not much, maybe a sixteenth of an inch all the way around the glasses. Then trace the template on the patch. If there is an air gap around the edge when pressed in place, it might come loose.She-Who-Must-Be-Obeyed has tried several different products and is thrilled to find one that works.
