Very Happy with the book
Very Happy with the book. Box that it came in the side was partially ripped. Luckly the books and the 4 way USB connector was in tact. Terrible seeing that come through the door. I writing this because I wouldn't like it to happen to anyone else. I say its the Post! An Post Ireland, really don't care. Thrown in the porch! Im just wandering if something can be done about this. I know other people had the same experience. As for the books Delighted with them. Im so innterested in computers all that. 4 way USB charger adapter is working. Miracle contents didn't get damaged.

The quantum computing guide book
This is an excellent starter, and reference book on QC. I'm still working through it, and have to keep going back and forth to understand some of the maths, but is really helping ground my thoughts.

I love it
Excellent introduction to quantum computation. I am an economist and has no background in the field of physics, but with high school math you are able to follow the presentation and even work out some of the problems. Great buy!!

I would always recommend physical textbooks in any case
I wondered why this only had 3.5 stars at the time I wrote this review. After checking I see this is only because of issues with the Kindle edition. I would always recommend physical textbooks in any case, there is good evidence that navigating around a physical book helps learning. The text itself is a fantastic. A very clear introduction to linear algebra, quantum information and quantum computation. Sadly I have lost my copy, one day I'll replace it.

Not for self-learners
My credentials as a self-learner are that I was in the first cohort of Open University students and completed a good First in mathematics. Even though I have not completed this book, it is clearly not for self-learners. This anniversary edition contains a multitude of errata (some quite worrying), the glossary of terms is sadly lacking and there are no solutions provided for the exercises. I find myself frequently having to search the Internet for clarifying material in order to move forward. Although highly rated by university departments, it demands easy access to the equivalent of a lecturer if smooth progress is to be made.

The book is very interesting and useful for everyone who means to deal with the quantum computing seriously. The book will provide you with necessary theoretical background to understand quantum computing and quantum algorithm. The first part is introduction to the quantum computing, quantum mechanics and theoretical computer science, the second part deals with basic of quantum circuits, quantum Fourier transformation and its application and Grover search algorithm. Last part is focused on theory of information, mainly the quantum one. The book is not light reading but it can serve as very useful guide in the world of quantum computing theory.
