Reliable Surge Protector with Plenty of Outlets
I’ve been using this Anker surge protector for a few weeks, and overall I’m very satisfied. It feels sturdy and well-made, with a flat plug that fits nicely behind furniture. The cord is long enough to reach where I need it, and all the outlets work without issues. I also appreciate the USB ports for charging devices without extra adapters. This power strip makes it easy to organize cables and protect my equipment from power surges. Outlet capacity: Enough outlets and USB ports for multiple devices. Size: Slim design fits easily in tight spaces.

Lots of great features, high quality and beautiful!
This power strip (Anker 12 AC outlet, etc, surge protector flat plug power strip) is top quality, like all Anker products. Apple even sells Anker charger blocks in their online Apple Store. This power strip has an ON/OFF switch at one end. The two lights (labeled Surge Protection and Grounded Protection) next to that switch have two functions: 1) they act as ON/OFF indicators for the ON/OFF switch, and 2) when the power strip is switched on, they both are illuminated if both of those protections are active and functioning normally. The directions say that if the Surge Protection light is off, then the surge protection function is not working (it's an important warning in case the surge protection function fails for some reason). The Grounded Protection light is presumably on as long as the power strip is plugged into a properly grounded outlet (and the switch is ON). The power strip has other important protection features also as described (high temperature protection, for example). Note that some reviewers suggest or imply that the switch toggles back and forth between grounded protection and surge protection, but that is incorrect -- you get those two protections all the time when the strip is turned ON. This power strip has a very attractive modern look. It is certainly much better than having two smaller ugly power strips. It also comes with two screws and slots on the underside for wall mounting if desired. It can also charge either two USB-A devices or one USB-C device, but not both types at the same time. It fits all the large chargers that we have in the household without blocking neighboring outlet slots in the power strip -- that feature together with the large number of outlets provided are major reasons we bought this. The dimensions are 9-3/4" long X 4" wide. So far we have three of these, one each for our two teenagers and one behind the TV/entertainment center in the living room. I highly recommend it.

looks like a GREAT PRODUCT. Also info on surge protectors in my review
I love Anker products and will talk about my decision to buy this specific product in paragraph 5 (if you want to skip ahead). But because I spent days doing a deep dive in how to choose a surge protector, I thought I’d share what I’ve learned. Supposedly, surge protectors only last 3-5 years because inside components degrade. Most have a light indicator or automatic shut-off when that happens because then they can be a fire hazard - even if you continue to use them as a power strip which is what I had been doing. When a friend experienced a power surge in her home recently and lost ALL of her electronics, I was motivated to get new protectors or power strips where needed. By the way, surge protectors should never be used for any device that draws extreme heat - e.g. iron, vacuum cleaner, large appliances, power tools and chargers, blow dryers and curling irons, air conditioners, heaters, etc - these should have a dedicated wall plug. I looked into lots of products and bought 4 different kinds of protectors - a total of 13 protectors for 7 rooms. The first important factor I considered was the amount of joules protection for the all the devices being plugged into each of them. The research wasn't hard to do with AI (even though AI can be unreliable) - just list the devices and ask how many joules. Surge protectors should list the joules they can handle in their description. Then I looked at my space and installation needs (sit on desktop, fastened somewhere with screws, or on the floor) for each protector since they come in all sizes and shapes. Lastly, I looked at recommendations and price. Other factors you might consider are warranty length and and what is the monetary coverage. This Anker (2,100 joules) was my recommended choice for my computers, iPhone, ipad, etc - especially since it has USB charging ports. It does not have fast charging, called power delivery (PD), but slow charging was ok with me. I did need the extra outlets and their layout for those large box-like power adapters (called wall warts!). By the way, I labeled each with the date they were installed and put an alert on my calendar to check every 6 months starting at 3 years from now since I probably won’t notice or easily see when they fail (no making fun of my diligence please!). The only reason I didn't buy more of these particular surge protectors was because some places in my home needed a long strip style for space reasons, my home office printers and photocopier set up need individual on/off switches for each outlet, and my Home theatre needed more joules capability. I love Anker products and have often bought them over the years. The quality and price never disappoint. By the way, I labeled each with the date they were installed and put an alert on my calendar to check every 6 months starting at 3 years from now (no making fun of my diligence please!). As far as I'm concerned, surge protectors are like insurance - you hope you never need one. But if you do, hopefully you'll be glad you have them. Hope this is helpful.

A top quality surge protector in a class by itself!
What I like about anker products is its reliability and durability. This anker surge protector cord length allowed me to connect my refrigerator coffee machine toaster to this surge protector with no hassle and without any headaches. I highly recommend this anker surge protector. Andy Long

Great Product, Trusted Name Brand.
Nice Product. Spacious and very usable. The cord length was good for my purposes, but I should have gotten a unit with a longer cord. Seems an extension cords are never long enough. Always needing to extend power just a few feet more. But, I got what I ordered. I am confident it delivers the power safely and I trust the Anker Name. The USB plug portion has saved me from having to plug in additional power drawing wall warts and reduces additional clutter and power draw. Make sure you understand the usage of these USB outlets. One is not the same as the other two. One has a specific purpose that may not work as a replacement for a Wall Wort designed for a device you are powering. Lots of space to plug things into inside my Communications Cabinet. ie: Modem, Router, Switch etc.

Good basic power strip with a few extras
(Anker Surge Protector Flat Plug Power Strip(2100J), 12 AC Outlets, 5feet Flat Extension Cord, 1USB C and 2 USB Ports for Multiple Devices, 20W Fast Charging for Home, Office, Dorm Essential, TUV / $24 at the time of ordering) I bought this mainly for the flat plug head. The leg of my bed frame sits squarely in front of the wall outlet. Getting this power strip was a much easier solution to recessing the wall outlet. I ended up mounting the strip to the wall just under the bed frame. When shopping, I had narrowed down my choices to this one and another from APC. The APC had a higher joules rating. But for just charging basic things at a nightstand (iPhone dock, laptop, speakers, etc), the 2100 joules on this one is sufficient. Outlet selection is very good. I still ended up blocking some open receptacles using smart plugs (which I use to control devices via HomeKit). Most all smart plugs are fairly bulky. And I don't think any power strip can accommodate the endless variance of wall plugs and adapters without significantly increasing the footprint of the strip. Having said that, this one does offer a good array of left & right facing outlets. They’re spaced about an inch and a half apart so, you can use some pretty big adapters next to each other without issue. Plus there's a center row of outlets for those taller 3-prong plugs. The dedicated USB ports are handy but they're limited. Just using a single USB port, you'll get the max charging for your device. But as soon as you plug in a 2nd or 3rd USB, the ports are all now sharing only 15W. Build quality is good. Generally, it's what you'd expect from this brand. Design is minimalistic (which I like). I just ordered another for my office where I'll be able to utilize more of the outlets. Overall, this is a well laid out power strip with a decent joule rating for your consideration.

Awesome surge protector!
I have a sit/stand desk and needed to redo the wiring for my desk, that lead me to getting a new surge protector & I absolutely love this thing! I never thought I would be saying those words but this surge protector is really nice! It's light, thin, the switch is solid & doesn't feel flimsy or like it will stop working in a year, the flat cord is amazing too! The only thing I would change about the plugs to this & other surge protectors like this is have it angle to the right or left. Thankfully the angle works well for my setup right now but it might not be ideal in the future at some point. This mounts very easily too but do note that the screws that come with it are extremely cheap & break even with care & proper measures taken to screw them in.

Excellent layout, top-notch build — worth every penny
Excellent layout, top-notch build — worth every penny The flat plug and flat cord are absolute lifesavers, especially if you’re working with tight spaces behind furniture. Anker clearly knows what they’re doing — the internal circuitry seems solid, the components feel premium, and the overall design and socket layout are extremely well thought-out. Plenty of outlets, USB-C with fast charging, and it just works — reliably and cleanly. Definitely worth the price.
