Good things don't last forever anymore
Good gate opener but my motor has already failed. We've gone through at least four of these gate openers in the last 18 years we've lived here. The last one was just bought in 2024 and already I have to replace it again

It is working as good as advertised..Gonna thoroughly enjoy it in the rain and cold. Installation was not bad at all. Couple adjustments after Installation and was good to go!!!

I would buy again
I’ve used these openers for about 22 years. My first one would still be working if the kettle had pulled all the wires out this one is good but it’s erratic. I have a little trouble with it sometimes opening without being told to and not closing when told to.

Long time MM user, Disappointed with Plastic Hinge! Returning this.
We've had the Mighty Mule FM502 gate opener from 2015-2024 when a component of it stopped working. Although we have dual gates, we opted to just purchase a single gate opener and leave one leaf closed. We ordered this Mighty Mule MM271-A and were disappointed to see it has a plastic hinge and is much smaller than the original gate arm we have. We are returning it and hope to find something more durable. There's no way a plastic hinge will hold up long term. The warranty period is now only 12 months, perhaps due to the reduced quality.

Great customer service
I own another gate from gto but if you buy this one you may need another opener with dip switches to pair it to operate keypad wireless opener I don’t know why they wouldn’t provide it when you purchase the opener they only cost $10 but I think it said they would send you it not convenient but I had other dip switch oper from other to program it.The cost is a bit for what you get it works the arm could be another inch more of throw to open further so mock up your set up to be sure it opens n closes totally I rate it 4 just for that reason n price
