Brought back good memories
Bought this as an LP many years ago now. Nice to have this as a cd. I paid £7 in 1980 to see Robert Palmer live at the Hammersmith Odeon. He was brilliant.

Casual buyers might prefer a hits collection
The title ‘Double fun’ (1978) appears to reference the irresistibly catchy ‘Best of both worlds’ (the album’s standout song). The compilation ‘Addictions volume 2’ (1992) offered remixes of the latter and the rocker ‘you’re gonna get what’s coming’. The same collection included a remake of the key title ‘Every kinda people’ (‘Addictions volume 1’ used the original take).‘Double fun’ is a solid effort by the singer, but like so many albums it wouldn’t make my top one hundred. The reggae-bass driven ‘Love can run faster’ and the soulful ‘You overwhelm me’ are two of the most satisfying album cuts. A new interpretation of ‘You really got me’ (the Kinks) is okay, but hardly essential. My used Island CD (made in Germany) doesn’t offer state-of-the-art sound, but it is preferable to the compressed reissues by the Culture Factory label.

no hits but quality throughout
if you are looking for an essential, this & "riptide" would get my reccomendation, in the retro sleeve, apart from title track worth buying for Every Kinda People"

この頃の彼がいいな
何というか、DoubleFunの頃の軟弱ロック路線?は、これはこれで「味」があって好きです。

Top knotch tunes!
As I said in a previous review. Robert Palmer, the Island years. Nothing else to say.
