great for the money
Had for about a week, very nice to use, burrs appear to be perfectly aligned out of the box (checked with marker), getting amazing espresso. No issues with static or clumping so far. Have given the chute a quick brush a few times to try and keep the anti static device clean Possible to grind directly into portafilter or basket if you use a funnel and occasionally knock the grinds pile so that they dont back up into the chute. can flip the rubber piece to help. The philips head holding the chute was damaged (presumably during assembly), and in DF64's own video on youtube they mention the screw is very soft, so that may be an issue long term, no idea why they couldnt provide a better screw, and hex matching the other screws and included allen key would have made a lot more sense. Contacted them via amazon chat and they were uncooperative and basically blamed me... Dosing cup - not a very snug fit to my vst basket, so if you shake the cup to distribute the grounds, a fair bit seems to escape to the outside of the cup. fines seem to stick to it, so i tend to grind direct to basket instead. a metal cup would probably be better, can buy df64 one separately but dont think its worth it

Fantastic Grinder
I've had this for 3 months now and it's performed great. Simple to use and easy to dial in a consistent espresso grind. It's very easy to clean although when I went to clean it after 2 months of daily use, it barely had any old coffee grinds in there so what you put in you get out which is fantastic.

Quality piece of kit
First thing is the weight. Chunky, really quite heavy. Solid though, no rattles. In operation, this is impressively quiet. Grinds beans effortlessly. The stepless setting will please aficionados seeking precise grinds. Top notch.

Quality Grinder at a reasonable price!
Well built and grinds perfect for espresso going as fine as you like! Has some weight to it and the construction is great…..definitely good build quality. No hesitation in recommending although you have to be patient as it takes a couple of weeks to arrive.👍

Worked well for 2 weeks then started to throw coffee grinds everywhere
1. I loved this grinder, it worked very well once dialled in, however within 2 weeks it started to throw coffee grinds all over our kitchen work surface, I think the plasma generator fails or fails to do its job after a bit as others have said. So 5 star for the grinder until it stopped working so cleanly after 2 weeks and then it becomes a 3 star grinder. Maybe I could have taken it apart to try and fix it but don't see that as my job and when I read the instructions it said nothing about required maintenance and actually says do no dismantle the machine. 2. Luckily as I bought it via Amazon even though from a 3rd party seller in Singapore, Amazon customer service was fantastic and the return was processed straight away although I did have to pay the hefty return postage but to later be refunded. It took a while to get returned as I think the 3rd was a bit delayed in doing some of the import papwerwork / processes. Overall put your trust in Amazon customer service though and all will work out fine if you have issues or faults like I did. 5 star for service. 3. My biggest issue is the 3rd party seller firstly made it very clear they were not happy I made contact via Amazon and had clicked I wanted to return it due to fault, they said I should have instead contacted them direct, not sure how, maybe they meant outside of Amazon. They then said despite them / Amazon only suppling a non-prepaid returns label and me having to choose and pay the cheapest method to send it back (UPS), that I should have instead used another 'method' they know, not sure what as I regularly post items abroad and so know how to ‘legitimately’ send things the cheapest way. They then said my 2 week old grinder was scratched and fully working and so I had no right to return it! Firstly it was NOT scratched it was only 2 weeks old and I'm OCD with my kit, but Secondly it was faulty and so I had full rights to return it after 2 weeks. The Amazon listing in fact clearly stating it can be returned within 30 days, mine failed to function as expected after 2 weeks.

Fantastic
Works as advertised and my husband use it 2 times a day at least never complaining. The build quality is fantastic complete solid a lot heavier than I expected and is not very loud when grinding

The plasma generator failed a week in
Really good value but not 100% convinced by the quality control, the grinder does grind really well until the plasma generator to control static fails (after less than 20 grinds) then you get more clumpy grinds needing WDT and a messy grinder with all the static making the chaff and fines stick to the machine. The adjustor ring is also veeerrrry stiff and could do with some texture as the shiny metal is slippery so adjusting grind size is annoying. These are small things but if fixed would be a 5 star grinder.

Absolutely amazing grinder for the money. Too bad my cat ate the rubber portafilter holder while I was away 🥹

1 Month Update: I still really love this grinder. Best value purchase for the grind quality you get. After about 1-2 weeks of use, I noticed more static in the grinds, but a simple clean with the included chute brush resolved this and it's back to clean static free output. I've also started to spray my light roast beans, but not necessary for dark to medium roasts. I still love the look and how sturdy yet quiet it is. I also recommend hot starting for grinding to help maintain grind consistency. No clogging issues whatsoever. You can't go wrong with this grinder if you're looking for something for home that provides a quality grind to elevate your espresso journey. Original review: I wasn't one of the early adopters of the DF54, so I had to wait for the next batch shipment to be available so I could get my hands on one. My previous grinder was a Baratza Encore that barely met standards in terms of a good espresso grind (very inconsistent, muddy flavors), which it wasn't really designed for. I've read some of the complaints of the DF54 in terms of the zero point and static issues and I have to say so far I have none of those issues. Maybe they tweaked the manufacturing to address some of the prior issues to improve Quality Control on these latest arrivals. 1. My DF54 right out of the box hasn't had any static issues yet, even when grinding light roasts (which tend to have more static than darker roasts). 2. The Zero Point was spot on. Just turning the dial a hair past "0" was where the gear "chirping" happened, so I'm happy with this calibration. 3. First few grinds had a little bit of retention, but after that and using the bellows, the final grind comes to +/- 0.1g from the initial beans dosed. 4. Some video reviews talked about how the bellows come off too easily from the grinder, but with mine, the bellows are fairly snug that if I try to remove them, the "anti-popcorning" cap slips out with it, so seems everything fits well together. I haven't check the burr alignment on this unit, but so far I don't feel like I need to. For Espresso grinds, I have it set in the vicinity of 20, and my shots so far have produced wonderful clarity for fruity notes, but enough smoothness for flavors like vanilla. Very satisfied with my purchase. I really love the compact design, the quiet operation and pairs well with my Bambino Plus. I'll provide an update in 1 month.

ich liebe Kaffee. Schon sehr viele Jahr. In diesem Sinne – make coffee, not war.
