Great shears! I am not a professional, and these are probably best suited for a small home farm with only a few sheep to shear per year. That said, I have used professional shears in the past, and I was very surprised how cool these shears stayed the entire time! After and hour of straight use, I could touch the blades and not get burnt.I also loved the fact that this unit has variable speeds (1-6), although I stayed in the 5-6 range the whole timeNote: although there is an oiling bottle in the photo, no oil comes with the product. It is, however, very well oiled from the factory.I would suggest purchasing oil at the same time you order this. Bear in mind that you need to use an oil that will not irritate the animals skin. I think they recommend a paraffin oil.

Our pony has Cushing's disease and with it comes a thick and relentless coat. Her medication took care of some of it but most of it wouldn't shed. Tried other clippers but none could take care of her, didn't even deny it. These clippers did the job! Got a good easy cut and most important a cool pony who didn't look like she had the mange.

These worked great!My horse is very happy to get rid of his winter coat, since he is not capable of shedding it on his own anymore.

These horse clippers were supposed to clip even the thickest coat. We could not get it to cut more than 3 inches before they clogged up. We read directions, we have clipped with other clippers before without this problem. Now my horse looks like we took a weed eater to her butt. Don't use a company without a phone number or an email that makes sense

Bought item for use on a Border Collie. Item performed as described. My border collie's hair can not be trimmed by regular dog clippers, but this item did just fine.I have never used a clipper like this before but was impressed on how easy it was to use. The blades will not move when first turned on, because the knob is on the tightest setting. I had to loosen it a little bit for it to work. I tried every speed setting (1-6) without using it on my dog to determine which one am comfortable with. I was able to groom my dog at speed setting "2". The power cord is long enough to use out on the porch or back yard.

So these clippers are great, I have a 110 lb German Shepard /Golden Retriever mix and these work great even on his thick coat. They do get warm after prolonged use, but I am able to cut my entire dog without any problems or issues. The only reason for not giving out a 5th star is that it does cut him a little odd. It leaves grooves in the hair, where the large tines do not cut completely even, and with his straight hair it takes a day or 2 before they fade away. all in all they work great and I would totally recommend them to anyone looking to just cut back on the amount of shedding or dog hair around their dog or house.

The shears didn't work to cut sheep wool. The person that I sent the product to was not able to cut any wool. He went back to cutting with scissors. The one think that was good was the international shipping time frame. I would not recommend this particular product to cut wool.

Extraordinarily large. Noisy (scared the jeebies out of my dogs!) got hot quick and strong vibration. I’m sure it’s fantastic for farm animals but sadly not for my use, so had to return.

These are more for sheering sheep and farm animals. However, I had to return them since they were too loud for my little dogs.
