This jacket, in white, is really bright white and has the mesh/perforated look. While the school logo embroidery looks good and is relatively understated, overall this pullover is basically little different from a shirt. The polyester material is fine, but it is soooo thin and is basically only good for very few circumstances as another layer, but really only when you’re cold due to a very light wind. On the plus side, that plus the perforations means it breathes a bit. Another problem with the bright white is that it makes the side cuts more noticeable as the sides and bottom of the back are a non-perforated material. The difference in textures and thick looking seams are a bit distracting. There’s also a lot of random threads protruding from seams that need to be cut off. Finally, there is one pocket on the side that zippers close, which seems to be meant for hiding a wallet, but then forgetting it when you wash it. Overall, I think a darker color would make most of these issues less obvious.

Material is a little thin but it looks nice.

My husband is an Iowa grad and this was a gift for him. He loves it! The shirt is well made with even seams, sturdy stitching and the Hawkeye embroidery is immaculate, not a stray string anywhere. The fit is true to size; I ordered a 2XL and it fit him perfectly. Length of sleeves and shirt are appropriate. This is a 1/4 zip front shirt which allows open collar ventilation or a closed neck for a breezy day. The fabric is lightweight and will be perfect for a variety of occasions and is available with many college emblems. I highly recommend this shirt for your college students and grads!
