Delicious
I like to snack on these even though you really shouldn't eat too many of these daily. There really are a lot of vitamins and turns your urine banana yellow. Cheese is the best one. The other ones don't taste anything like what it says their flavor is.

I only bought cause of Metal Gear
I have been a big fan of MGS for awhile now, and when these were recommended to me I was blown away by how readily available they were. As for the taste, they taste like a cheese crisp is the best way for me to describe it. The quality is fantastic, there are a lot of them for the price you get, and as for the texture, it’s very dense but also smooth to the touch. You will smell like cheese a lot afterwords though.

Slightly sweet and cheesy snack
These taste like mildly sweet, slightly cheesy, shortbread cookies. I tried these a few years ago when visiting Kyoto and Osaka, and these tasted just as I remembered.I’m not sure how “healthy” these really are, but it’s a pleasant snack to have with tea. There are two packets in each box, with two cookies in each packet. Each cookie is about 100 kcal

Delicious
I wanted a good snack and was thinking of Metal Gear Solid at the time when I bought these. They're really good. I think this is my favorite flavor between this chocolate and fruit. I'm not a fan of grapefruit and these are more crumbly and softer than the chocolate so this is the one for me.

Expires in 3 months
Bought some of these to test to replace the boating rations I used to get for my car emergency backpack and my motorcycle bag. Even if I wanted to support Russia right now, it's hard to find the waxy sugar cookie packs at a price I'm willing to pay and they're always way down on the original 10 year shelf life.So I started looking at these.Taste is fine. I enjoy it. My brother says they taste like cream cheese, some reviewers have compared them to a cheesecake, but they have the distinctive funk and slight acidity of a mild, pleasant commercial blue cheese such as a Danablu or a grocery store gorgonzola. I found them challenging fore the first bite or two, but once that clicked in my mind they became quite delicious. Funny how the brain works around expectations versus objective experience.ANyway. So there are two problems that prevent them from being practical for this purpose.1. They are too soft. I get that they're intended to be a very accessible source of calories for use as an occasional meal replacement for use in situations where the high sugar and simple carbohydrate content is ideal. For this purpose the nutritional content isn't a huge issue, they supply some metabolic water and aren't terribly thirst provoking, especially if you eat them slow enough that they don't suck the moisture out of your mouth. But they lack durability and several crumbled in the package during shipping, forget about storing them in a go bag. I understand that the consistency I'm looking for (somewhere between melba toast and dried-out automotive body filler compound) probably isn't as appealing or accessible to your average buyer, but I do wish they were at least a little firmer than they are.2. The expiration date is in three months. Oftentimes you can significantly extend the usable life of a product past the printed date on the package if storage conditions are optimal. FOr example, cool, dry, no direct sunlight exposure, no dielectric issues, packaging stored elevated off of porous surfaces to prevent moisture wicking through packaging, no temperature shifts to contribute to delaminating foil packs. But if you're putting something in your car, you should cut the shelf life in half. 25% if you live in a particularly hot climate. This is why I liked the silver foil packed and vacuum sealed boat rations. Ten year shelf life printed, and I would replace them after five years due to the extreme temperatures. They were usually mostly fine at that point but showing signs of early breakdown. So if the package says three months left on the shelf, but I'm storing it in a bag in the back of my 4Runner which is basically a 4-wheel-drive greenhouse, in theory I might be lucky if these last halfway through next month.I will enjoy them as a snack. The price per pack is pretty reasonable as a meal replacement type thing, I may even get them again as a silly treat to share with my fellow nerds who grew up around the Metal Gear SOlid franchise. But unfortunately they do not meet the specific need of the moment, particularly because of the shelf life problem.

Excellent fallback ration
These are an excellent contingency ration at desk/on-the-go in terms of convenience, fill, and balance. They do require plenty of fluid to wash down. Flavor and dryness may require some acclimatization but fully expected and am not disappointed. Find these preferable to dense and syrupy/sticky energy bars more common in the US.Have regularly picked these up while traveling through Japan and am glad to have an option for sourcing them whilst back in the US.

Still worth it
Cheese flavor is there, kinda like a cheesecake flavor. Decent calorie mate, no complaints at all.
