Let me first say that I have never owned a lathe of any sort before. I received this and am pretty pleased. As it came, I put four feet on this and immediately put a piece of stock and started turning. Almost no setup required. Once I got used to the tool that came with it (there's just the one, no fancy gouges or anything), it was really easy to use. I ran a strip of sandpaper over it and it looked like "a thing". I noticed often when starting it, there was a delay, like a start capacitor had to charge up or something, but it was only like a second or two delay. I see the other items that came with it, and they look to be on par with the parts that I am using. No reason to think they would not work. I like it, for what it is. It will have limited use for me in that the maximum stock size I can use is 2" x 5", but I knew that when I ordered it. Very nice tool. If you are a pen maker or something like that, I'd highly recommend.
