Extraordinary small and powerful
I am digging this tiny nvme hat. Was easy to assemble. Only gripe I have is with the screw that secures the nvme as my hands shake. I wish I could get another one of these. I got this because of airflow worries with the pi as I do with all builds I do. Currently having a friend printing a different case for my raspberry pi 5. It came with extra hardware too. The nvme achieves 296 MB/s write and 415.9 MB/s read in PIOS with a score of 39,736 but your milage may differ. PIOS boots very quickly and operation in PIOS is smooth with no bottleneck. Fit was quick and easy and secured nicely. Quality is great almost as if it were part of the pi board. I should also note that I did not have to edit the boot on PIOS. I just used the raspberry PI Imager and selected pi 5 and PIOS then my nvme from USB and formatted it. Once it was done I attached it to this hat then booted right up nice and quickly. The install didn't detect my wifi at first in setup so I skipped but was able to connect from PIOS desktop.

Tiny and works perfectly.
Had a problem with the first cable but I swapped it with the other one that came with it and everything worked perfectly. Would be 5 stars otherwise.

The little NVMe hat that could
It functions exactly as advertised. Some other small form factor hats obstruct some of the GPIO pins, or even depend on having an official active cooler installed. This one does neither. I use this in conjunction with the ultra thin ICE Tower which the provided FPCs are long enough to accommodate, although you will need 30mm standoffs to clear the extra cooler height. Smaller standoffs can also be stacked together. But they do work fine with the official active cooler. Mounting is about as straightforward as it gets. 2 holes, 2 standoffs. Using at pcie gen 3, hdparm gives an average read speed of 745.161MB/s, which is very respectable for such a small hat. The one minor issue I could take was one of the provided FPCs being DOA. It's bound to happen since they're so fragile, and they provide a backup just in case, which is working great. It's a great little hat that does it's job and keeps airflow obstruction to a minimum.

Customer Service Department cannot provide you with any information regarding this product.
If you plan to use a 2230 size SSD, DO NOT BUY this product. The hardware to mount your SSD is mounted in the 2242 hole on the bord and there is no way to move it to the 2230 mounting hole. As far as I can tell, this product doesn't come with the hardware needed to mount a 2230 SSD, and there are no instructions for installation of a 2230 SSD. On top of that, customer service is of no help. They tell you the same thing that the horrible instructions tell you, and that is to move the screw. Well, there is nothing to screw that screw into for the 2230 mounting hole. Now their customer service is telling me that no one in their company has a 2230 SSD so they can't instruct me on how to mount it. This leads me to believe that 52pi is just trying to cash in on the popularity of the Raspberry Pi, and does zero testing to ensure that the products they sell are working properly or are of any quality.

Cool idea - too bad it doesnt work.
Purchased, tested my M2 card in a M2/USB enclosure - card is fine - raspi is fine - connected the cable and even after editing config.txt in firmware, the device is still not recognized. I do not even get the power indicator lamp to light.. Yes my cables are in firmly and square.... I would appreciate at least a replacement unit as I am thinking this one is jacked.

Either used or doesn't come with everything.
Received 12/15/24. It says the package includes, 1x N10 PCIe Peripheral Board 2x PCIe FFC Cable 2x M2.5x17mm (No it doesn't 0) 4x M2.5X4mm (No it doesn't only 2) 1x M2X3mm (screw) 1x 2X3mm (Heat set) 2x M2X2mm (No it doesn't only 1) and 1x Screw driver (No it doesn't) Although it does work I'm not happy there is missing hardware. Makes it difficult to mount. Not going to buy this again.
