Brilliant book for reluctant readers!
This series of books is fabulous for reluctant readers or one who are just beginning to read in their own. Humour appeals to children and the graphics are great!

Bird & Squirrel- perfect for a funny adventurous read everytime
We really enjoy all the Bird & Squirrel series! My son doesn't like to read, but he regularly re-reads all 4 of this series and can't wait for the next one to come out. (I like reading it too :) :)We love that Bird & Squirrel are funny without being crude! Such a breath of fresh air.We also love that the stories teach good things like: friendship, loyalty, kindness, doing the right thing even when it's hard, not to mention stress-management :) Easy-going Bird helps paper-bag-breathing Squirrel to calm down, think through things and always tries to cheer him up.

Good graphic novels for reluctant readers.
The Bird and Squirrel series is a great set of graphic novels for young readers. My son, 8, who is a reluctant reader finishes one whole book in one sitting every time he reads them. These books are beautifully illustrated, they don’t use demeaning words (like “stupid” or “idiot” that are used in some other popular graphic novels...”The Bad Guys”). And they are funny. Would recommend them for kids 6-10.

Another Winner from James Burks!
I teach second grade and my students love Bird and Squirrel books. The students begged to get this newest book and it is another winner from James Burks. I enjoyed the new characters and the chance to get to know the main character squirrel better by spending time with him at his house. Any book that the kids beg to read and want to reread is a winner in my room. Any age will enjoy this series, I find it best read by students who can read at a second grade level, level M or higher due to some bigger vocabulary that the charters use at times. Great series to get kids hooked on reading and enjoying graphic novels.
