It worked
After seeing many different reviews I was skeptical but needed to try this method and medium size due to a large rat. I tried putting down rat bait pebbles of ratx tomcom mixed it with peanut butter and all this rat did was lick off the peanut butter and leave the rat bait intact never digesting it. I left the door open and waited for an hour and it never went outside. So I said let’s give thisa try didn’t have anything to lose as I knew the baits were never going to work it was too smart. With this cage it was pretty durable not too flimsy. Easy to setup and The mechanism of the gate coming down to close and capture the rat was amazing. I put it out for 2 hours max. First try I placed peanut butter on the tray it has setup inside. My mistake was placing it on a piece of foil because the rat went inside without activating the tray and literally grabbed the foil and slid it off and away it went to have its food. I know this because I had installed a camera to watch it. It’s sniffed around outside a few time because it smelled the peanut butter was curious and went inside with in. When I seen it grab the foil of peanut butter and walk out the cage with such Waze and then going back 3 more times I said I need to outsmart you. 2nd try I placed just a small amount of peanut butter directly onto the tray it has. it went in, started licking the peanut butter on the side of the tray and then it happened! He triggered the tray and snap! The cage door came down. It has this slide metal piece when the tray snaps closed that metal piece will come down to lock it in place. For me, I was watching on the camera the entire time. As soon as I heard the snap of the lid I ran to grab it because if it’s size it did try to throw itself against the closed lid and thrashed inside but I was ready and waiting. In all I used this for 2 hours and caught it!! If you have a camera that you can add to the area and watch and see what it does you can outsmart it lol this one was smart and knew! but I highly recommend. It was worth every penny and the quality was great and most importantly it did the job! Should’ve purchased this sooner and not waste money on pellets.

Very easy to bait and set and it's super sensitive and cannot accidentally open when occupied.
This is a terrific trap if you want to humanely remove vermin from your property. I have used many traps for field rats and mice and none have worked as well as this one. Its size is perfect too. I tried the type you put over a bucket and somehow expect the animal to smell some peanut butter way above his smeller. If he happens to get a whiff of the scent of your bait, it then needs to navigate a long, uphill climb and then walk across a lid. They suck. I have also used Havahart traps for many years but often found the bait missing yet nothing in the trap. This trap is easy to use too. It is so sensitive we even caught a snail! Please release your animals in an area where they will have a decent chance to survive.

Here's the answer to your rodent problems. A life-saver (For us, as well as the mice!)
Some little mice set up housekeeping in our garage, and we didn't want to kill them (as we HAD done, reluctantly, when big rats caused some $1300 damage under the hoods of both our cars about 10 years ago). At first we tried using an old humane trap that we had kicking around, which outwardly looked and basically worked much like this one. On successive nights, we caught two mice, but it took two people to bait the thing because one had to hold the door open. Once it sprang shut on my husband's arm and actually left marks. Another drawback of the old trap was that for the trap to be sprung, a mouse had to pull or push the bait in the right direction, and that bait was just placed on a large, but too loose to control well, hook hanging from the top of the trap. After those first 2 successes, the mice managed several times to steal the bait and get away. So we went online to find a better solution. This KENSIZER CAGE is constructed of metal and looks much like the old trap we had, but it has beautifully solved both of the problems I mentioned above: (1) To my surprise, the strong metal rod whose tip goes just barely under a loop in the "trigger" can also be used to safely hold the door open while you bait the trap, there being a special metal clip-like thing for that purpose on the top of the cage. (2) Instead of the "victim" having to set off the trigger by the way it attacks the bait (in our case, cheddar cheese--The mice love peanut butter, too, but in the hot garage, it melted.), when it tries to get at the food, it cannot avoid stepping on a small, thin metal plate loosely positioned under the bait, and then Snap! goes the trap, so fast that the mouse doesn't have time to escape. Using this Kensizer cage, we caught 4 more mice in quick succession. One morning, we found 1 in the cage and released it in a field and rebaited and caught another one, about an hour later. We expected to get more, but haven't had any signs of them for a couple of days. Anyway, it was a total of 6, and the last 4 were very easy, thanks to this simple, but superbly designed trap. The fact that it is made of metal, rather than plastic, also sets my mind at ease because I know a mouse that has to spend the night in it will not be able to find a way to gnaw a hole and escape. Even using the trap indoors, you may eventually find ants coming for the bait and swarming all over the cage. We were afraid that the scent of an insect spray would keep the mice away, so we just cut a piece of wood a bit larger than the "floor" of the cage, smeared a lot of vaseline around the entire circumference of the wood, and set the cage on top of it. Ants, at least the small ones we have in southern CA, do not want to walk on vaseline. I should add, though, that we don't know if vaseline also works as a mouse repellant, or if we have really caught and released all the mice who were enjoying our hospitality. Going to test that tonight by leaving out a couple of pieces of cheese a small distance away from the cage. If that disappears and we catch nothing, it will be time to find a tray and create a tiny moat of water around the cage so the ants can't get across.

I Love the fact that the small animal can be trapped safely and relocated. The conventional rat and mice traps are absolutely barbaric - the poor little critters just wanna live!

Fue realmente sorprendente ver cómo en 3 horas ya había capturado al roedor. Solo seguí la recomendación de otro comprador de amarrar cacahuates al fondo de la jaula, y si, en tres horas cumplió su función

I've caught 3 rats already. Product works perfectly. Side note: The product I received was dented so the door lock was not working properly. Had to use a plier to put all the metal back in place and the door lock then worked properly. I assume it was delivery that caused the damage because the box was also dented. So no fault on manufacturer since it is catching the rats and they're unable to forcefully escape. Rats have been relocated to a field far from home.

worth purchasing it

Good human trap for it's price. Place a heavy object on cage ( in a way that does not stop it operating) as our first Asian house mouse managed to get out after the trap being triggered. The dog may have had some role in that but I am uncertain.
