Warning: brilliant cable lenght now halved! :(
I really wanted to give 5 stars as I love this strip on my stairs and it works really well with my hue bridge and motion sensor but... The 1st one I had, had a segment of white LEDs fail casting a blue light in the middle of the strip when set to white. I wish I had just put up with it as I mainly use coloured light on the stairs and it wasn't affecting that, but as I was still within the return period I sent it back and ordered another strip. I decided this time to give a touch longer run to reach the lower step by cutting the last meter and using an L connector so I could leave a lot less slack around the corner, which previously allowed for a gentle bend. I cut through the cut mark where the copper connectors are but the 1st segment of 10 lights on the cut section now don't work at all. They flicker a few times when I move the strip so I though maybe just a loose connection and it may work if soldered. I found the 5pin 10mm L connector I had was the wrong way round for how I needed the strip to run, it would of needed to be folded over so I decided to solder some wires to join the strip that way. It's now connected but the 1st segment is still switched off, luckily it's not that noticable being in the bottom corner of the stairs, the strip gives off enough light to fill the corner, and the little dead spot that is there only I have noticed, but it's annoying as I know it's broken from day 1. I've put a vase there to hide it even more. BUT then when I came to fix the power cable properly along the wall, I found this 1 to be a meter shorter. Its half the length it was! The ribbon cable from the lightstrip to the power block now no longer reaches the ideal spot it was fixed to before and it's a push even trying to get it across the width of the bathroom door to where I can secure it to the skirting (as high as it will go). I don't have an electrical outlet on my landing so the 2 core power cable has to run into a bedroom. I can't use an extension cable as it would get in the way closing the door (the lightstrip 2 core cable is thin enough to hide under the frame). I'm not sure if its safe to extend the power cable or the ribbon cable by cutting and inserting a length of cable (chopping up the 2nd ribbon cable I'm not using). Why has the cable has been shortened so much!!! I thought this was a huge advantage over hues short cable. I thought the 2 meter length was ideal for people wanting to run 2 strips from 1 power supply now it's restricted to having them very close together. This 1 isn't sticking as well as the last 1, it's come away in 2 places after 12 hours (on bare new wood) the last 1 didn't come off at all.I'm going to end up having to go to the further expense of an electrician to install a new electrical outlet (when my bank account has recovered from buying smart lights)...its so annoying, I was so pleased when the same strip I had a couple of months ago fit perfectly, It's such a shame and I hope they rethink the new lenght.

Better value alternatives to Philips Hue that work - mostly
Philips Hue prices are crazy and these Innr Light strips are a cheaper alternative. I bought two and they connected easily to the Hue bridge, appearing in the list of lights just like the Hue bulbs and lightstrips do. Their colour accuracy seems good.Occasionally they become unresponsive to commands, either through Google Assistant or directly from the Hue bridge. I have to switch them off at the power and back on again before they start to respond again. I don't know whether they're a bit out of range of my Hue/Zigbee network so it's hard to know what to blame. Not a massive problem though. They also show some unexpected behaviour. I run one of mine blue and one red in my games room. When I switch them from these colours to white, the blue one briefly flashes red before going white. Again, not a big deal to me but the Hue Lightstrip doesn't do this. They have two big physical advantages though:1. They're double the length of the Philips product.2. They can be cut into two pieces, and the connectors are supplied to run both halves. Thank you Innr!

so modular - perfect setup
Bought a few of these because the cost point is much better compared to the official hue strip - to begin with you are getting double the length in a single strip for the same price which means less chaining and less loss of light between gaps in joins.I haven't used an official hue strip for comparison but compared to hue colour changing bulbs I am getting a very good match in colours - nice and bright with vivid colours and strong whites. The strip was easy to setup and operates like any standard colour bulb in the hue ecosystem so Im happy to say operation is as expectedHowever where this product excels is that compared to the Philips strip you receive some great accessories and features that have meant I can install easier and achieve more than the official product. My strip is behind a wall cabinet and a TV so I have run the cable through the wall to a lower plug socket - to achieve ease of installation, reduce damage to the product and to future proof any problems I instead used the spare connection cable to run that through the wall and into the power box inside my cabinet. This means I dont have to drag the cable out if things go wrong - far more mobile to disconnect the strip at the wall plate. The length of cable means its perfect for running and routing it through cupboards or walls to hide the power brick elsewhere. Comparing that to Philips latest generation of power strip which is a soldered 1 piece system theres no comparison - installation is far cleaner and modular with the Innr product and its control box has a secondary input that will allow me to root another strip in another direction rather than chaining it to the existing strip.

Great colour, however mine was defective.
well, it looked great at first, really bright and amazing colour, the blue was a bit purple but what can I say, I went out for an hour and they were off when I left, came back to them red, thought that was odd, so I tried to change colour, it did to some extent, however nowhere near as bright. for some reason whenever I try to turn them off it would not go off it would only go to red no matter what I tried or smart device I could not get them I've tried resetting it restarting and powering it off and nothing worked so I had to get her refund and going to order a new one maybe was just one defective item I don't know no I plugged the secondary strip in and that happened as well to the same one so it's clearly the control box. very disappointed as I wanted to use it however I'm sure I'll get a new one that works the quality was very good.
