These are not shaker jars, they are open top jars to use with spoons. My fault and didn’t realize until we received. We were looking for something to use in our outdoor barbeque shack that we could use that wouldn’t allow humidity to clump seasonings. I thought these were our answer until we opened them and realized there is not shaker top. So disappointed because I accidentally bought 2 sets instead of 1 set and beyond my return period :( Now I have 2 sets that are of no use to me.

The most important thing to note about these jars is that they do not seal shut. The lids simply REST on the mouth of the jar. There’s no true closure, much less a genuine seal. Does this make it easier to open? Yes. Does it make them airtight or waterproof? Only if you have REALLLY loose interpretations of those words.
