Children recognize the exercise and similar of different easily and because they are short
This whole series of book is a must if you want to teach young children or adults basic concepts and have them remember and recognize the scales and notes. The exercises are very short but help children with the staff and notes memorization. Children recognize the exercise and similar of different easily and because they are short , children feel like they are progressing. I recommend the whole series for any piano newbie l..Giving it a 4 star : I wish each page had more of concept paragraph to explain the student what practice is about. This is left to the teacher while piano classes is now out of reach for most, parents want to fill in and save money/classes where thy can.

Works fine, even if not in English.
So far so good. I have gone through the 1st 2 books and this continues in the same way but really advances your skills. My only issue is that it isn't in English. The Spanish version was the only hard copy available on here so I bought it anyway. Every thing else is understandable except the exercise titles but that's not really very important to me. For fun I look up the translations.

This book (this is the 5th in the series) works very well for my students and every student is in the series, "A Dozen A Day". The "Red Book" is very challenging and I have 2 students that are highly motivated to begin this level...and will within the next month or so. They started in the first level ("Mini Book" which is Pink) and I credit the series for their excellent progress and excellent technique.

As a Piano Coach. . .
I use Dozen a Day with nearly every student. They are fun, easy to teach different elements, articulations, symbols and techniques with that students enjoy. Highly recommended, and used profusely.

Simple easy exercises
I feel like these lack substance. But for kids who are intimidated by too much piano homework, this could be useful since it is simple looking. It will help you with evenness and control.

Great to warm up fingers on intermediate level students
My children love these books to warm up their fingers. The level gradually increases by the end of the book you can realized how much you have improved and so easily. I recommend doing these books along with the step by step series. This book goes with step by step book 5

Piano students love them!
Piano students love these exercises that make sense a student and increase their skills almost immediately. You don't have to "enforce" the practice of these, students want to play them!

Dozen a Day is still the best exercise series
Perfect for getting those fingers to move before playing. My mom, who was a piano teacher always assigned exercises from these books. I love the titles and the drawings.
