We can all be kind!
This was a cleverly written children's picture book. While this was a Christian children's book, it was not heavy-handed and I will still feel comfortable reading it in a public pre-school setting. Lolli and her new puppy, Pop learn about being kind. After all, we can all be kind!

Excellent. It is very helpful on teaching to be kind even when it isn't easy. I wish she had the rest of the fruit of the spirit published!

A cute adorable book about a girl and her puppy.
I received this book from the author in exchange of an honest review! This was a really adorable book about a girl, a puppy, and about kindness and God. I enjoyed reading it, normally I am a bit hesitant about books that feature God/religion. Don't get me wrong, I am a Christian myself, but often books with religion feature it in such a way that it feels like you are being pushed to that belief or get smothered in it. But not with this book. Oh no. The book is clearly a religious one, but one that doesn't push or smother. And I am happy with that. The main focus in the book is Lolli who receives a puppy named Pop (and thus their names are combined Lollipop, which is something that gets noticed by several other characters, and also seems to be a bit of fate that Lolli was able to receive Pop). Lolli is an adorable character, dedicated, though I had to laugh at the times that she was happy that because someone was allergic to the dog she could have it. Or pray to God that she could keep Pop even if he makes her dad sneeze. :D Of course, reprimanded by her mom, but I just couldn't stop laughing, because I could see me say the same things back when I was her age.She also so honest, and I love it when characters are honest, I hope Lolli will keep her honesty while growing up.The book features the hopes of Lolli to keep Pop (and her growing bond with him), and also the finding of a key and what results that gives. The main theme is kindness, as gets mentioned quite a few times, but not so much that it is annoying. The ending was fun, and I was happy for Lolli. Of course I won't tell you the ending, you can read this book and find it out yourself. ;)The art is something that I had to get used to, it is a bit strange at first, but after a few pages you are used it to and don't mind it that much. In fact, after a few pages I was quite charmed by the illustrations.Would I recommend this book? Yes I would. It is a fun short story with nice themes and adorable characters.Review first posted at[...]

Adorable illustrations
This cute story sets a great example for little ones. The first in the new Fruits of the Spirit series, the Lolli and Pop duo have the potential to be a real bookshelf favorite. I adored the cartoon-like illustrations, which remind me of a cartoon or even an animated movie. Though the language seems a bit stilted throughout the story, the main idea of kindness comes across with ease. The pair also prompt some natural follow-up activities, such as a kindness log. Or, leave Post-it notes around the house with kindness reminders! I received this book in exchange for an honest review. Opinions shared are mine.

fun teaching tool
Lolli and Pop is an authentic, fun teaching tool. Kindness is a a lost art among children (and adults). Can't wait to share with my nieces and nephew.

The story has everything kids love..
What a precious book this is!! The story has everything kids love... best friends playing make believe, a oh so cute new puppy, and learning a lesson on kindness! The author does such an amazing job giving examples for Lolli to learn about being kind to others, as well as, introducing the Fruits of the Spirit! I look forward to reading this one over and over to my grandchildren!! I will anxiously be awaiting for the next book and all that come after that one!! If you love reading to your children/grandchildren, or have a beginning reader in your home, this book is AWESOME!! It would be a great gift to purchase for a teacher classroom, or maybe even your church library!Thank you Rachel Sinclair for allowing me to read and review this complimentary book in exchange for my honest opinion!! Heart of a Bookworm gives Lolli and Pop 5 ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥'s

Much to offer all ages
Lolli and Pop is a great book! It teaches the important character trait of kindness, even if it is difficult. With the epidemic of bullying we are seeing in schools now, Lolli and Pop can teach valuable life skills in an entertaining way appropriate for a wide range of ages. With the vibrant illustrations and adorable puppy, the story is easily interesting to young children. Pre schoolers will be eager to see what happens. Older children can use the story as a spring board for a larger discussion on kindness.Having worked in an elementary school in the resource program, I can see so many ways this book can be used. It will encourage a love of reading in young children. It will help with expressive language as children talk about their own experiences. Older children could easily have great experiences in reading groups talking about kindness, bullying, and "doing the right thing." Great opportunities to predict what will happen next.Engaging pictures and characters, great topic.

Darling book with the added bonus of teaching kindness!
Darling book to aid in teaching precious children one of the 9 Fruits of the Spirit. This first book in the series on Kindness is a great one to start with since it is so important for children to learn how to be kind to one another. The illustrations are very cute. I look forward to reading it to our new grandson. Wonderful idea for a series and I look forward to the rest of the upcoming books.
