First pump I received did not work, the float wasn't reliable. Ask for an exchange/replacement by following the steps provided, received the replacement within days of shipping back faulty one. That one worked very well. Great service, great pump.

Half the price of my old pump
One of the most important things to have working on your boat is a boats bilge pump. This small but powerful pump can handle all the water from a tropical storm that seems to happen very often in south florida. The automatic float switch is a great feature and can be switched from constantly running if you just want to clean out any water from just cleaning the inside of the boat or for emergency when your not around and a pouring rain fills the hull of the boat which would make your boat sink. This feature makes owning a boat less worrisome. Great buy and everything was included to make it a simple install.

Just what I needed
Great switch for turning on a small sump pump that I keep in my fishing boat. If it rains, this will engage my pump and get most of the water out. Hope it continues to operate as it did this past summer!

Lasted about a 1.5y and then Fried
Installed on my smaller boat and it lasted about a year and a half before it fried. That boat isn't used often so I would say bilge spent most of its life dry. It worked great the 1st couple of trips but then the float started to become flaky, but the manual worked fine. Bilge eventually gave out.

These cheap 12v pumps are great
I use these pumps for all kinds of things. They are simple cheap 12v pumps that you can easily adapt for all kinds of needs, and they run great. I am on my second one - I previously bought one that was a slightly different design, they all seem quite similar though (previous one lasted a few years and got a lot of use out of it). Definitely worthwhile having a couple of these around for different projects
