Outontrip Classic Metallic Herb Crusher/Grinder Large with Filter (Herb Grinder/herb Crusher 52 mm)

I am writing this review after 2 years of using this product. First of all let me say it helped me a lot in getting my mind straight and focusing on the good of life :P Secondly, its an excellent grinder of herbs and it easy to use and sift the product out of the grinder. Awesome creation whoever designed it and thanks to Outontrip to get it to Amazon without any prejudice. Great for grinding all kinds of herbs. Please keep in mind to wash it occasionally. Product quality is excellent, I think it is some kind of steel/aluminium alloy kind of metal they have used to cast this crusher. Overall great quality and excellent product and not to mention that it is sturdy as hell! I have dropped it many times and it only get scratches. No dents! The grill does not fall off because it is designed perfectly to do its job! Once again Thank You for this product!

Very good quality

If you need a tool to make it easy for your fingers, this does the job. It doesn't save time. The magnet works very well and the size is compact for enough herb at one time for single use. The design needs more attention. The first sieve has holes that are too big so seeds are never filtered. The second sieve has such a thin wire mesh that you can only use it for flour, not herb. Even if the second sieve is for seeds, the problem is that the teeth aren't grinding the herb so finely that it can pass the wire mesh.

You load the stuff to be grinded in the top layer and rotate the drum. The ground stuff reaches the second deck, and the very fine dust gets collected in the bottom deck. Here are some tips and tricks that makes this tool very useful. 1. Clean up the herb before you load it into the top deck. Remove seeds and twigs if you don't want them to get ground. 2. Load the herbs in the top lid and not in the first deck. Load it pretty tightly. 3. Close the lid by placing the rest of the grinder, so the the lid is at the bottom. 4. Rotate the drum. Rotate is for a good amount of time and rotate in either directions. 5. Flip the drum upside down to its natural orientation and now you got actually ground herbs in the second deck. 6. Without dismantling the drum or removing the contents, shake the drum to collect the fine dust if you need it. Additional tips: After step 4, look for twigs, seeds or other undesirable contents and clear them out and continue again If possible, microwave the herbs for 30 seconds or so, which dries out the herb and makes grinding easier and the dust finer.

The build quality is strong and the magnetic system works well, but the grinding is not fully proper. Some small pieces remain uncrushed, so it does not give a perfectly fine finish. It is still useful for quick use and saves time compared to manual sizing, but if you need a very smooth and fine grind, this may not be ideal.
