So let me start off by saying I thought this would be a tool I don’t use regularly but I was WRONG. As a mechanic I’ve used this pretty regularly the past few weeks and it’s helped diagnose some cracked plugs that couldn’t be seen by normal means. The quality is not bad at all for the price. And it’s become and all around great piece to add to my toolbox

This bad boy is pretty neat. I had a pair of OEM ford mustang spark plugs. They were the original spark plugs that were on the car since i bought it brand new. I tested them alongside a set that I bought here at amazon with a full set of coils. The new spark plugs were performing noticeably better than the OEM spark plugs. This is a very useful tool hands down. They remove doubt when you have second thoughts of the spark plugs you are buying. The best part is they don't break the bank.

A great little item to have in your DIY shop for testing plugs. First test I did with my Ancel SP02 was test the plugs on my old ONAN P220 mower engine to get it ready for this year's mowing. With the 2 test holes, it was perfect as I could watch both plugs spark same time. Noticed one plug was not as powerful as other so stopped test to see why. Did air gap measurement and found that weak plug's air gap was off. Did an adjustment and re-tested and ran the power up through it's paces. The higher the so-called RPM of tester, the noise changed in pitch to a high whine which I didn't expect. A good plug will spark blue to blue-white. If you see yellow, arcing out the glass insulator that you might not even notice from a crack, or plug has what is a dead spot (no spark) at certain RPM's of the tester it is time to replace that plug(s). Also, test all new plugs before installation. You'd be surprised to possibly find a bad plug from all the jostling around during shipment. Don't know why I hadn't gotten one of these years ago. They're also kinda fun to watch during the spark testing. I have a couple In-Line Spark Testers that work well, but this is better in that you can actually see the spark plug and what it's doing under a high RPM test load that a mower's engine won't get to and how healthy that spark is through the ranges the tester gives.

Im surprised. This thing works great. I didnt think there was such a tool. This really helps find those good spark plugs in my stock. Never again throw out those mystery plugs without checking them. Great value for the money. Easy to use, put the plug in and turn it on.

Works good on standard length plugs ,how ever will not hold smaller plugs ( shorter ) from chainsaws weed eaters etc ,but it is very good product that saves guess work
