I needed something to monitor the sliding door of the apartment of elderly relatives who often forget to close it.It had to meet three requirements: 1 - be inexpensive. 2 - no need for a central hub to connect the devices, since they don't know how to operate it, and 3 - the alarm had to be triggered on my smartphone, so that its piercing sound would not scare or stress them.This device meets all the requirements. It works perfectly. It alerts when the door opens with a piercing alarm. It also alerts when the door closes with another unobtrusive sound signal.The app was easy to install and also keeps a log of all the times the device is activated and how long the door was open.I have only one suggestion - not a criticism - for the manufacturer: give the user the option to change the sound signal to other types of sound.

I ordered a set of 4 in April, 2025. They work so well, I ordered another set of 4 (same item)one month later. First thing I noticed was the new ones come with different packaging and have an actual pair/reset button rather than a pin hole. Seemed like an improvement, but after installing (screws NOT provided) the new sensors do not work as reliably as the older ones and they display ON/OFF in the app rather than OPEN/CLOSED, which is really confusing when you want to simply monitor a door.EDIT: August 17 2025. Worked OK until I changed router when they dropped connection even though same SSID and password. Deleted devices from Tuya app, reset devices, cleared the app cache, but they fail to connect again even though they appear to function as the leds respond to the magnets.Sensors from another brand connect fine to the new network, and came with batteries included so I am switching them all out.

Updating review: customer service is top notch! I'm going to give these another try. I think I'm going to print a 3D holder to help keep them attached to the doors this time thoughWorked great for a couple months. Was easy to use. Gave me peace of mind that my youngest child who is disabled wasn't getting out of the house without supervision.Giving 2 stars for the sticky tabs that they came with. The first sensor fell off the door a little over a month after installed. The dog got to it, before I could, and he ate the sensor. The second sensor, fell off the other door and broke.

This door open/closed sensor checked all the boxes for me, and was a significant upgrade in functionality over the others I've had. This item uses the TUYA app which I already use, doesn't require a hub, and is SMART. I set up a light to go on and off with the door closed or open and it was all in the one app to set up. My previous switch needed to be set thru alexa which worked but when we changed internet settings it was a whole difficult process to set again. (My switch prior to that was a ring motion sensor-so a different trigger of course- but that needed a hub which needed to be at a certain distance, plugged in, and again another set up).

Works ok . Great for Alzheimer's patients every time door opens I get a app notification but there is a delay 5 to 10 seconds. Sometimes I don't get any but I rather get some the none. I do recommend it.

Purchased one of these sensors for my double wide garage door. It was actually very easy to install. The sensor performs great. I receive a notification every time the garage is open or closed which is added security and I was able to connect it to Alexa which also announces when the garage opens. Great quality for the price. I installed another one in my mailbox so I can get notifications from Alexa when mail is delivered. This is much cheaper than purchasing a Ring Mailbox Sensor and Hub.Definitely worth the price.

I purchased these as a simple solution for a problem that I was having. The price was great, but it is like they always say "You get what you pay for". They are small, easy to install, but the set up did not go as planned. I had a lot of trouble connecting these sensors to my reliable Wi-Fi connection. So, I never got to really test the functionality or reliability of this product.
