A private investigator review comparing the AKASO Seemor-200 to other IR night vision devices
I am both a private investigator and a security pro. Over the years I have bought many IR night vision goggles and have returned every one of them. I bought cheaper and more expensive ones than the AKASO Seemor-200. My biggest issues with the other ones have been the poor vision of the scene, being unable to record my subjects at night and wearing glasses is almost impossible to look through the eyepiece that requires to put it almost inside your eyeballs.Monoculars also have been the worst at trying to get a full shot of the area I was surveilling. I only bought this model because it was recommended by another investigator and to my surprise for the price, it's beyond what I was expecting.First, I love that it has 2 mounting options (top and bottom), to mount to a Helmet or a tripod/monopod.Second, I'm in love with the large-screen rendering. I no longer have to put the goggles on my eyeballs and I can wear my glasses so that I can see the scene properly.I took it on one of my night surveillance gigs and I caught my subject red-handed thanks to the AKASO. I recorded the scene and was very happy with my results. Although the scene was pretty dark, the recording seems to be almost in full light AND clear! - It has an app, but I have not yet downloaded or played around with it yet.I only used it for about half an hour total or so, and it seemed that the battery was still full. I can't say how long it will last, but with having a second battery available it's very handy. I have taken some pictures with my phone showing the night vision scenes. I used it before even charging the batteries that came with it. I have a very advanced phone so the photo of the scene seems to be more illuminated than it shows, but for sure, the area was very dark and I could not see a thing, not even the car in the scene. You can see in the 2 night photos the difference between the screen and the dark surroundings. These goggles I am keeping! In summary, the key advantages why I am keeping them are:- Superior Display: Large screen offers excellent visibility while wearing glasses, eliminating the uncomfortable eye-pressing common with traditional eyepieces- Dual Mounting Options: Versatile attachment points on top and bottom for helmet or tripod use- Exceptional Night Performance: Provides clear, well-lit footage even in extremely dark conditions- Quality Recording: Successfully captured surveillance footage with remarkable clarity

Excellent binocular-style night vision with app for remote use!
The Seemor 200 resembles many other binocular models I've seen online. However, I was immediately impressed by its substantial weight and robust construction upon unboxing. The experience was enhanced by the inclusion of a hard case, two rechargeable battery packs, a carry strap, and a USB-C charging cable. While this may seem trivial, the excitement of unpacking this device was quite remarkable.I should note that I accidentally powered off the device several times while trying to zoom in, as the buttons are located on the same side and share a similar texture, which can lead to confusion. It would be advantageous to have a unique texture or another distinguishing feature for the power button. The battery packs are conveniently housed in a charging box that connects via USB-C. Each battery provides approximately four hours of usage. In addition to manual focal length adjustments, the device boasts an optical zoom capability of up to 16x magnification. As I familiarized myself with the buttons, I was impressed by the wide array of options available. Please keep in mind that at least one battery must be charged before using the device, so you can fully enjoy the illuminated night landscape. I took it into my garage for my first test and almost entirely closed the door letting in very little light. I couldn't see anything with my naked eye but with the scope I could pick out everything on my shelves. I could even read the text on a moving box which was several feet away (a two-car garage) and only an inch or so high.)The Seemor 200 can connect to a proprietary application via Wi-Fi, allowing for the transfer of images and videos without needing to remove the microSD card, as well as enabling remote camera operation. The LED display features options such as a compass, zoom level, and time stamp. The device utilizes artificial intelligence to enhance images by optimizing available ambient light, enabling the capture of clear images even in extremely low-light conditions and demonstrating impressive long-range capabilities. As someone who has never used a night-vision scope before, I was astonished by the possibilities it offered.Lastly, the Seemor is equipped with tripod mounts and a small wedge for attaching accessories (handy for when there is no light at all.)
