This is a awesome plasma cutter for my shop. I do fabrication and blacksmithing so I am constantly cutting steel sheet goods. I have other plasma cutters in the shop but I needed a cutter that could handle thicker metal. I am very pleased with machine. This cutter can handle 3/16'' all the way to 1'' that I use and the lead is long enough to allow me to move around my cutting table with ease.

Purchased a cheap plasma cutter yrs ago that I had to send in for repairs 3-4 times, this last time I decided to do some research and landed on the BTC800DP 9th Generation 80Amp. It was a few hundred more than the other models but is heavier, probably over kill but will never be pushed to its max. I would suggest and purchased the extended warranty. Have put it to work on 1/2" and 3/4" and it is a hot knife thru butter!! I like the non-touch arc starting mode, the screen shows air pressure, voltage, and current, the post time function is nice with an adjustment range of 3-15 seconds. I would recommend this cutter for anyone needing a every day use machine.

Good cut on 1" rusty surface material. Smooth arc and great cut, what else could you ask for? We will see how long it will last, only time will tell. Tried it on 1/4" aluminum, cut great. Tried it on 16 ga. Stainless steel, like butter. I don't think you are supposed to drag the tip or not, but I tried it! It cut the 1" steel just as good as with stand off wheels. I also dragged the tip on the stainless steel and it worked great also. I think I am going to be a happy camper with this machine. It is my first plasma cutter! I have been in the fabrication business for years. The machine has all the features, and more than most on the market, for a better price.

This is my first plasma cutter. I’ve used it only two or three times. I cut some quarter inch galvanized steel with it. And I cut out a weld that I cannot get to with my grinder. It’s a very useful tool. I believe this plasma cutter will last me for many years to come.

Bought the biggest one and it has performed very well as it has cut up to 3/4” inch with ease. Using it on a farm so not used everyday to test for durability but I’m impressed with the capability of the machine.
