This is an ideal knife for fishing a bit on the big side but it works good stainless blade so you dont have to worry about rust I would recommend it.

I love this Schrade knife. I have a Gerber Guardian 2 but the mild steel has the nasty tendency to rust, does not keep an edge and is pretty heavy. This Schrade knife has a great strength to weight because you don't need to haul extra weight with all your other gear. (This is why I prefer a Glock over a Sig.) The 440 Stainless Steel is pretty fool proof. You get a lot for a low price and low weight. The Schrade knife feels like a scalpel and that is just how you use it for knife fighting. For wet work, you need a long blade to punch under the rib cage to reach the lower ventricles of the heart or to cut the clavicle artery. Attacking from the rear with the Schrade knife allows accessibility to the kidney or medulla oblongata. Obviously, don't use this weapon unless it is justifiable self defense where you are NOT the aggressor. Be very careful about the laws in your jurisdiction regarding this type of blade. In my jurisdiction, you can own the knife but you are not allowed to carry it on your person. In the event of society breaking down (more) and the end of the rule of law then this knife will come in handy. I plan to keep my bayonet affixed to my rifle and this Schrade knife as my back up. You are going to need to add some rifle wrap to the handle to get a better grip, but I add that to all my firearms anyway. You will also want to add some paracord to the handle to prevent loss of the weapon in a fight where your tendons may get cut. The sheath that comes with the knife is not that too bad and is just a simple leather sheath. NOTE: The Spec.-Ops. Brand Combat Master Knife Sheath 8- Inch Blade (Long) does NOT fit with this knife because there is a screw at the bottom of the sheath that prevents insertion. This is a well made knife. It appears to be something of a copy of the Gerber Mark 2 combat dagger which is a copy of the Parker Mark 2 combat dagger. This one can't compare to the others but for this price point it's a good buy, especially if you can't afford a Gerber you can still get the same look with the Schrade. The handle gives a secure grip and the knife is quite sharp out of the box, although most knife enthusiasts usually prefer a sharper knife edge. This is not a Bushcraft or work knife, it is designed for a combat to survival scenario, although it is not truly a survival blade it does have a level of versatility in that it has some serrations on both sides of the blade and the blade is double edged. And that double edge is so desirable in a combat blade as a fighting knife. Overall this knife is light weight, has good grip, a long very effective double edge blade with a guard offering protection to the user, it has serrations on the blade and a lanyard hole for some 550 paracord and a price point you can't beat for a knife of this quality. This knife is not designed for heavy camp chores, chopping or prying tasks, it's a combat/fighter weapon.
