I wanted to upgrade my carpet cleaning experience. And allow for a weekly deeper clean. Easy to set up, with clear instructions, as always with this brand. Despite being an upright, I find this lighter and easier to use, as it glides across the floor. With a decent capacity. It vacuums everything, pet hair included. And is built to withstand accidents. It also has the ability to detect dirt, increasing power. The cord length means you aren't as tied to the power outlet. And it's functionality means it can squeeze under better, and clean edges without the need to use the hose, although that is always a bonus for odd jobs. I am always left a thrilled customer. Always value for money, and why but twice, or more, when you can buy right the first time? Easily saving you money in the long term. I strongly recommend.

Superb suction on detect setting picks up all dirt on all types of surfaces easy to put together and use. Slightly lighter than my older shark model easy to empty. Cord length could be a little longer but you can’t have it all! Love the speedy hoovering although the power almost devours my carpet but they come up super clean ! So glad I splashed out on this model my last shark lasted over 10 years with two dogs and x3 kids

I spent a lot of time reviewing various vacuum cleaners before I decided on the Shark AZ3900UKT. I was after the AZ4002 but this is not available in the UK thanks to Europeean directives. Purchased AZ3900UKT from Amazon and delivered just two days later. Firstly, I was very impressed with the packaging Outer box is very sturdy, opened to find an inner box which was also very sturdy. I was very pleased when opening the inner box to find absolutely no plastic. Everything was neatly wrapped and protected with either paper or cardboard – all of which can be recycled. Assembly was straight forward and everything fitted together with a pleasing solid ‘click’. The only thing that foxed me initially was the cover for the odour eliminator which seemed to be missing – I didn’t realise it was inside the tin already fitted to the actual odour eliminator cartridge…Doh! The accessories included the following: • Shark 8" Crevice Tool • Shark Pet Multi-Tool (two part) • Shark Anti Hair Wrap Pet Power Brush – this was a pleasant surprise as it is not stated on the Shark Website but is on Amazon where I finally purchased it. All reviews (and on Amazon product description) prior to purchase stated that the power wattage is 750W (wattage is not shown on the Shark website) so I thought I was purchasing it at 750W. However the box states 600W and so does the Owners Guide and on the unit itself, so this was a little concerning that it might be under-powered. Shark – Has the wattage been reduced? Comment please Shark! First use: I thoroughly vacuumed the bedroom carpet (which was already clean) with my aging Dyson so was not surprised with little debris in the tub. Then I went over gain with the Shark (Default Detect mode) – I was astonished at the extra debris it collected on what I thought was an already clean carpet!. On this mode, the vac does want to pull away forward but not a problem and actually makes the operation easier – contrary to some of the reviews that I have read. The reverse cleaning works really well and was one of the reasons I selected this machine in order to double the efficiency and shorten the cleaning time. I then moved on to hard floors – laminate and tiles still with Detect mode selected. It automatically slowed the rollers and altered the suction. This was also really effective. Running back then to Carpet, the Detect mode auto switches back to carpet mode. In all honesty, I can not see me often moving away from ‘Detect’ mode very often apart from cleaning my lightweight rugs. The 1.3L dust/Debris bin is not as large as on either of my two Dyson machines but this is not a problem – just empty it a bit more often – and it compacts the debris better than my Dysons anyway. Lights: I considered lights on a vac as rather gimmicky, but how wrong I was! The front headlights work extremely well on both dual and single edge detect. Also, the LED on the handle is fabulous when using it in lift-away mode. I have changed my tune! The Anti-Odour cartridge doesn’t really do anything (for me anyway) – I can’t detect any residual perfume (even when its on max) after vacuuming, perhaps my sense of smell is degraded. The ONLY Bad point is the quality of the cable – it is too stiff and I think the flexible union where it joins to the main shaft will degrade in quite a short time – I hope I am wrong - I think that Shark should improve this aspect and make the lead more rubberized and flexible. All in all, the Shark AZ3900UKT is a quality (but pricey) vacuum cleaner that performs very very well. So far, very pleased.

Fantastic.... honestly the best vacuum cleaner I've had. I know from experience with Sharks, u need to keep the filters clean, so I'm presuming there will be no difference there. Of u feel your suction failing, clean out your filters or better still after a few cleans get new ones. Its like you have a new machine all over again. Thus particular vacuum has started technology and swaps from surface to surface automatically, it works very well. You can have it in manual mode too but it works that well, I've left it in start mode. You can hear it work harder where there is more to clean, once clean the mode goes down in sound. I have jus5 done my sofa, I used it like I would on Amy surface, I just lifted it from the ground on to my sofa. I have 3 dogs, all go on the sofa so u can imagine the dog hair and dust, I emptied the canister twice!!!... it gad got quite bad mind since my old broke and I was waiting for this one, 5 days! It looks and smells like new! Pleased with the new addition of the air freshner. Same with all my floors. It is on the heavy side, yes, but not restrictively so, I wanted a more robust one this time, so ordered the corded one and obviously, with that comes more weight but on carpets and rugs it kind of self propelles, it nearly ran away with me! 😂 I couldn't be happier with the purchase, I'm happy to answer any questions prospective customers may have.

I've always been a loyal Henry hoover user. However having 2 dogs, Henry just wasn't cutting it any more. So I invested in the shark lift away pet hoover, I loved it and named it 'the mummy shark' we then got a cordless version for quick jobs which was christened 'the baby shark'. After seeing someone using the shark power detect corded upright on social media I decided that I needed 'the mother mother shark' in my life. This is the best hoover we have ever used, blows the old shark out of the water so to speak, the suction power is second to none, the way it changes suction for different surfaces, the power is immense. It's great value for money. Everything is labelled well and it's so easy to use. The new shark is a little heavier than the old one but well worth it for the performance. The old shark still does a brilliant job at my parents house and is still going strong despite being 6 years old.

Exceptional vacuum cleaner. I don’t often write reviews but I had to for this as it is simply excellent. It’s the vacuum cleaner that you think you’re going to get when you purchase others. It’s like with power tools I used to think getting cheaper power tools would get me somewhere and I was always sadly disappointed and now only by Makita. I know it’ll last and I know they are solid. This vacuum cleaner definitely picks up the dirt and because it’s not cordless, the power is there which is exactly what you want when you’re in a hurry to clean up before guests arrive. I love the way you can empty it from the top and the bottom and also separated from the base so you can just carried around with the wand. Both my wife and I use this. And I love the fact that it uses power detect so you don’t need to take the wand and do along the skirting boards. It pulls power towards the side of kitchen cabinets, et cetera to lift up the dirt. It looks good and I wouldn’t hesitate before purchasing it. I hope this review helps others who are toying with changing their vacuum cleaner.

It is a good vacuum but very heavy. The power cable is stiff and arrived with a split in the outer casing right at the point of the bend when rewinding onto the spool. The cable is not a good standard and totally inflexable. The hose is too short has very little reach and when you use it the vacuum will likely fall over. It is an expensive machine and although i will carry on using it ( probably have to replace the cable for a more flexible and better quality cable) i would not buy it again.

Can't comment on longevity as I have only had it a week but by far the best hoover I've ever owned! I've used Henry's for years but never found them great for pet hair and a really dirty carpet, this by far surpassed my expectations and leaves the carpet looking new. Lifts the pile and thoroughly cleans it. On the first use I couldn't believe there was that much dirt left only having hoovered the day before with my old Henry. The power and suction is far superior and it's very easy to use. Even though expensive, I think it's great value for money and you certainly get what you pay for. Highly recommend.
