This Cyclone Micro is great value for money, works perfectly and easy to use.
This great little Cyclone media player from Sumvision does exactly what it says on the tin! It is so easy to set up and so easy to use. I connected an HDMI cable to my TV, plugged in the power supply, installed a USB stick and it was ready to go. The setup is really simple - even though there is a good instruction manual (OK the English is not the best) you really don't need it. I set mine up to play some DVD files (in VOB format) from the USB stick. I wanted it to boot automatically into playing the first VOB file, then another 7 files, without any user intervention. It took me less than 2 minutes, and it worked perfectly. Didn't even need to press the power key when I plugged it in - it just played almost instantly! So its great for constantly repeating videos such as window advertising, etc. BUT - its also great for normal playing of all major video formats as well as MP3, WMA and FLAC. And the video/audio quality is excellent right up to 1080p HD, whether playing from an external hard drive, USB or SD card. The remote control is compact but easy to use with clear key label. This media player comes with cables for analogue and digital video/audio but you'll need to buy an HDMI cable - I use the Amazon basic HDMI cable which is good quality and value for money.

This upgraded version is much better to use.
A great little video player, and for me, a big improvement on the earlier versions. First off, if using just for a video player is really a simple plug and play set up via an HDMI cable. For those new to media players of this kind, before you play a video, you go to settings, and choose "Display Resolution" then t video format, for example 1920x1080 30 if you TV is 1080p and the video is 30 frames per second (see attached picture). On this upgraded version on my 20 year old LG 32 inch TV, I even get dedicate 25p and 30p framerates too, along with the regular 24/50/60p. But not on a more modern TV where the options are simply 50p for pal regions or 60p if not a pal region. It does handle 4K (2160 UHD) probably best to have the player's "Display Resolution" set to Auto for this. For me I film videos in 4K (actually 2160p) at 30p but TV is 1080p and this media player set to "1920x1080p 30p" and the video still plays very smoothly. This also allows me to preview the same video file I intend uploading to the web etc, without the need to make a smaller 1080p version just to preview it. It plays most video formats too, including H.265, and older file formats. One big drawback for those used to the older models, it does not like very large Hard Drives with 100s of folders, it takes a time for the contents to show. To get around this, I'm using high capacity SSD high speed sticks with videos in folders and it works great, I'm currently using a 1TB high speed one (as seen in one picture) and this works perfectly. Yes I do recommend this product, especially as now I can keep my own footage video library all in their as shot format, even after editing.

Nice Gadget, Bad Remote Control!
It is an intuitive gadget as I was able to watch movies in .avi, .mkv and .h264 format. The remote is terrible. This almost prevented me from buying it but I could not find a better alternative that can play movies in so many formats. I found that you need to point at the front of the player which is not very easy since it's tiny. I just wonder why they could not make it in such a way that it can detect signals from the remote within a radius of a meter around the player! It is frustrating to have to press a couple of times before the little player responds. This reduces the funny but I must admit, it is still well worthy the money. Is there a better remote control that one can purchase separately (assuming it's less than £10)? Most of my videos files have the .avi and a few are in .mkv and .h264 file extensions. I like converting .mp4 files into .avi or .mkv because even my favorite media player does not enjoy .mp4 file extensions. I have so far played more than 10 video files and I experienced no problem with any of the files. I also played a number of mp3 and wma files. I think you need to be careful when removing a USB Stick. I ended up separating it into two exposing the circuit board. Apparently it has no screws to hold it so when I pulled the usb flash drive, the whole front cover with the circuit board separated from the casing. I was scared but when I pushed it back, and tried it it still worked. I like how it treats photos. I just opened the Picture folder and expected to press next each time to advance the cursor. Instead the player played a slide show of the photos, with nice transitions. I did not check setting so I guess it was using default settings. Previously, I used to hook up my laptop to a Plasma TV via an HDMI cable. This was cumbersome because I had to move the Laptop from another room to the Living Room. Now, the whole family can share movies without heavy lifting. I recommend this even though the remote control is less than good. I think it's benefits far outweighs its flaws. Unless you can find one that can paly all files this one can play and has a good remote control, this is the way to go.

It doesn't work very well
It's pretty good with video files, however the whole thing is pretty terrible. The menus keep switching around so you try to find something it's in a different file entirely then it switches all around. Music cannot be played on this the quality is crackly and hardly audible. Tried to go and get product advice, literally it's like trying to get blood out of a stone. I really wanted this to work because I use my laptop as my media player I wanted something that would just do the job with no hassle this is Frankly terrible. I went online to see if anyone had a solution low and behold just lots of posts saying how bad this is. Don't Buy! I am returning mine.

Good quality MP4 player, that plays many other common formats. Does get hot while in use, had it playing a heap of MP4s (vids with music) for well over 5 hours, worked without a glitch.

Man sollte hier einfach keine Illusionen hegen!
