OtterBox Galaxy S20+ (Only) - Defender Series Case - Black - Case Only - Rugged & Durable - with Port Protection - Non-Retail Packaging

I bought this case to replace an Otterbox case that was years old and did its job through countless drops. The quality in these is always top notch, yes they add bulk to the phone for sure but you can't have the level of protection these offer without increased size. This is a 1 piece case where the previous one was a clip together plastic frame with rubberized case that snapped over the plastic, I find the older one easier to take on and off but the fit on this one is much better. The small price tag is worth the peace of mind for a $1000 phone.

Otter Box has been my case of choice since my very first smart phone. They are well designed, fit perfectly, and perform their primary functions well, all while looking and feeling great. (NB: This is my second purchase of this same case for reasons you will read about further down.) I do have one gripe about this case, and that is regarding the little flap over the charging port that keeps out dirt and other contaminants. Obviously this flap must be opened for charging and closed after. The flap does its job very well. My gripe is that the "hinge" of this flap relies on the eternal flexibility of the material of which the case is made to guarantee its continued functionality. Few materials can long survive being repeatedly folded 90° and back. In this case it made it 2½ years before the hinge cracked. In all fairness, the flap would probably have continued to perform its primary function, but I just didn't like the feel. Speaking of "feel", another reason to replace this case after a couple of years, and which I only discovered after the swapout, was that the surface of the case had lost much of its ... "tactility" (I'm pretty sure that's a word), and had become somewhat slick from handling. When brand new the case's material has a near-perfect grippability index - being a measure on the scale from completely slick and droppable, to so sticky that you couldn't let go of it if you wanted to. Anyway, this replacement case has regained for me the original protection, functionality, and feel, which are the superior characteristics of Otter Box cases that have brought me back again and again, and which informed my original purchase of this case back in June of 2022. I suppose that most consumers might never experience this flap failure because they replace their phones every two years anyway. I like to keep things for as long as they continue to serve me well, and my Samsung Galaxy S20+ still has quite a bit of life and value left in it, such that I see myself shelling out yet another $27 for one of these cases in 2027 if need be. This assumes that my phone has not met its demise, or been left in a shopping cart at Safeway and lost, or... who knows what? And, of course, this also assumes that Otter Box has continued to make this model. Cheers! - s.west

I tried other off brand cases and they do not compare to Otter Box. Just spend the extra few dollars and get the real thing, it's totally worth it!

Today this case saved my phone from breaking bc I left it on the roof of my car and was on yhe highway going 60 then it slid to my back window and made a noise and I seen it and I pulled over and got it, I like the rubber on this case it makes it easy to hold and helps in cases like mine, I feel lucky and the protection is good bc I've dropped it screen first and the raised edged protected it

Great product. Durable.

Fits snuggly and provides protection to the edges of the phone. It did not interfere with the screen protector. This is my second time purchasing the phone cover. The amount of abuse it protected my phone from is impressive.

Expensive but totally worth the money.

Purchased this case because of the Brand and Product benchmark and thus far it has passed my clumsy hand's drop test.
