5MP Action Camera Lens 25mm Fixed M12 1/2 Inch IR Filter for Gopro SJCAM YI EKEN Long Distance View

This lens works great in a runcam 2. Crystal clear image, though to get it like that is just a bit of tedious turnin it back and forth while you watch the output on a TV or something. I can see the bbs flying out of my airsoft pew pew thingy and hitting their targets, so that's pretty nice.

Pulled this little M12 lens out of the jar and gravity immediately filed a complaint. Straight to the tile floor from waist height. I braced for shattered dreams and tiny glass shards everywhere. Nada. Not a scratch. Not a crack. Not even a polite dent. The thing just sat there like it was bored. Attached it onto my pi cam , gave the barrel a few twists while watching the feed, and suddenly everything snapped into ridiculous sharpness. BBs in flight look like slow-motion tracers, distant targets pop with detail, and the narrow field of view turns a wide-angle toy into something that actually reaches. Focus is manual but smooth once you get the hang of it. The little glass jar it ships in is a nice touch too — keeps the lens safe when it’s not busy surviving my clumsiness. For the price, this is the kind of tough little upgrade that makes you wonder why more lenses don’t come with built-in “screw you, floor” energy. If you’re swapping on an M12 camera and want something that can take a beating and still deliver clean, zoomed-in footage, this one’s a keeper. Dropped it myself. Still perfect.

This is a "my bad" situation. From looking at the photos, I thought it was a lens I just screw onto the existing lens. It's not. There's no instructions on how to do it so I ended up going to YouTube. Apparently I would need to pull my action camera apart and reassemble it in order to use the lens. I'm not very handy and am afraid I'll damage the camera so I can't give this lens a proper review. I hope my review will give someone like me a heads up before ordering. The lens is compact and seems to be will made.

I am using this to upgrade the lens on a Wyze cam. It requires some effort but the results are worth while. First, you *must* setup up the camera in the app before changing the lens. This requires reading a QR code and the zoom is too strong to do that after you swap the lens. Search for utube video called "wyze cam lens swap" to show how to pop off the black plastic surround and the rubber part. The new lens screws in to replace the old lens. With the new lens, the depth of field is narrow and you have to focus the lens to a particular distance. Every time you aim at something at a different distance you need to adjust the lens manually. Also, the new lens is longer and leaves a non-water sealed gap. The payoff is about a 6x optical zoom compared to the standard lens. I have a Osprey nest I can now see clearly with the new lens. This lens has some flare but gives good sharp results to a far longer distance. I plan to experiment with a hood to fix the glare problem. Also, there is a red IR filter on the back of the lens. If you want to use IR lighting at night, you need to remove this. I have not yet done that. Definitely a worth an improvement for long distance viewing. Next summer I will mount a permanent view of the ospreys.

This 25mm fixed lens is easy to install and threads on smoothly if your action camera supports the M12 mount. It noticeably narrows the field of view, making it better suited for long-distance shots rather than wide-angle action footage. Image clarity is solid in good lighting, though focus is fixed and may require careful setup depending on your camera model. The IR filter helps with color accuracy during daytime use. Overall, it’s a niche but useful upgrade if you specifically need a tighter, zoomed-in perspective and understand the compatibility requirements.

This M12 mount 25mm fixed focus lens with IR filter provides sharp and clear images when focused. I tested this lens with a Raspberry Pi High Quality Camera with M12 mount. The barrel of the lens is marked “25mm IR ½” 5mp”. The 25mm focal length makes this a telephoto lens and like all telephoto lens it has a narrow FOV and a shallow depth of field. I measured the lens to have a HFOV of approximately 14-degrees. This lens would work best when focused on a set object, for example monitoring a mailbox. One potential problem I found is that the long focal length means that on some camera modules with M12 mounts, the mount does not have the mount threaded length required to get the lens in focus. This is a nice sharp specialty lens that might not work with all camera modules with a M12 mount.

This lens is fully compatible with the M12 Pi Camera and is able to give you a full range of focus. These come with little glass containers to help hold and protect the lenses which is super useful when working with these tiny little things. When paired with the Pi HQ Camera you can get some superb results. This lens is able to get a nice sharp image with zero imperfections in the lenses. I was blown away just how clear my images look with this lens compared to my cheaper ones. Overall, if you need an M12 lens this one fits the mounting system perfectly and provides incredible image quality.

I mistakenly ordered this 25 mm fixed lens because it said it fit a GoPro Hero. Since I only have a GoPro Hero 12, I assumed that was what it would fit. The listing however, at the time of ordering and of this writing says it will fit a GoPro Hero 12. IF there is a way - the lens came with no instructions, just a glass vile it was inside of, glued to the cap - I cannot figure out how.

Mit dem Objektiv kann man eine SJ4000 in eine Kamera mit einem erstaunlichen Teleobjektiv verwandeln. Wenn man davor noch eine Vergrößerungslinse anbringt, hat man fast schon ein Mikroskop. Den Halter für die Linse habe ich auf meinem 3D-Drucker erstellt (Linse und Halter ist nicht im Lieferumfang).
